Between alien and grace, I literally see zero connection whatsoever for grace. Aliens spy on us from their ufos. They also engage in covert experiments and probing of anuses. But then there’s the issue of beam. In a normal setting, an easy zero clue for Ray is Charles - 0. But this isn’t a normal setting. AI gave this clue to Ervin, and it very easily could’ve missed a beam connection with alien.

Let’s bold robot/thief and then talk more if they’re good. No use wasting time figuring out the puzzle if either of those are wrong.

If you ask AI to give a clue connecting alien+ray then beam is definitely something it could come back with

I guess I’m just not clear on what this rule means.

If Erv was try to avoid ray and alien with a 0-clue, how would he have prompted it to exclude words? How is that different from any other prompt?

If I wanted a 2-clue to connect ray and alien, I’d say “give me a word that connects ray and alien that doesn’t connect to the words grace/thief/robot.” If I wanted a 0-clue, I’d say…the same thing? And then just mark it 0?

We can discuss more after the game, I’m just not clear on the rule for zero clues.

Yeah it’s basically the same thing here. Just tell AI you want a 0 clue to exclude alien+ray and it gives you beam

I think he forgot that we get to guess unlimited even tho he has to clue a number or he woulda just clued prayer - 1 and we’d be done

How does grace hit spy? Neither of the split words overlap with spy, so spy has to have clued our last word. How does grace fit?

I get that we’re doing POE here, I’m just trying to understand how grace possibly fits a spy clue.

I’m more interested in what hits beam than what hits spy - 6 clue that we whiffed on turn one

Grace + Ray = Charles or even just “names”
Alien + Ray = beam

Of course, tough to play that game when it’s AI and not a human giving the clues

But beam for tractor beam is strong and names is pretty obvious clue for the only 2 names on the list..not quite animals for 2 animals but still

nice job team! yea first turn I just jammed 6 words that seemed kinda connectable in the sentence and wanted to see what it'd do, Grace/Spider weren't on there but on turn 2 I hoped it'd spit out Silk or Weave or idk...definitely not Web that was a confusing AF clue lol

The rules question was related to asking how to prompt - it was phrased like I'd have to prompt something like 'hey out of words a b c d e can you give a clue to exclude b and c' - EB said it was fine to ask 'can you give a clue for x and y' and just fire that as that seemed in the spirit and we could clarify after

I'm not an expert/don't have any paid membership - my prompts have been one sentence in the form of 'can you give a 1 word clue for the words a b c etc' and i'm mostly strategizing about which/how many words to combine
