opposite clue: roadkill

I’m not entirely sure I can articulate the opposite of roadkill in one or two words.

Opposite p4 would theoretically be a synonym (or at least related to) roadkill. Prey is jumping out at me, but even if that’s right it’s obviously not something like predator.

And it doesn’t seem like it’d be a specific predatory animal because then we’d be getting tons of animal confirmers thrown at us.

Roadkill is something that’s run over. The opposite could be something that runs it over. But it’s not car/truck/vehicle because there are way better clue options.

Hmm, will continue thinking on it.

yea first though on roadkill is some kind of animal like Deer/Skunk/Badger but doesn't feel like that's it

Good thinking on the meal aspect. A driver would also be an opposite of roadkill, but the better opposite clue would be p9 passenger (which wasn’t mentioned), so that’s out.

What about something like hunter? Roadkill is accidental animal death, hunting is on purpose.

The p8 + opposite p4 works pretty well here with predator/prey (I’m a dope for missing p8 a couple posts ago even though I mentioned predator, haha). Predators are hunters, prey are hunted.

It’s a little odd to me that r8 wasn’t mentioned as being an opposite until right before Nich bolded, but maybe there were different r8s a floating around.

D1iab mentioned an h4, so hunter would obv not be right if he was using hunt as a confirmer. Trying to think of a different h4 that could fit.

But this is the best I’ve got, and we should bold something today as to not hold the game up much longer.

livestock seems sort of a solid opposite but I'm not seeing the animals there as confirmers(and don't think they're doing hens/pigs/etc, they'd mention 3 letter)

Yeah, no r5/7 ranch/rancher seems like a no on livestock, but I like where you’re going.

R6 could be ranger, but not sure if that helps. They regulate hunting, so there’s at least a little connection to hunter.

I’ll try to think a little more about g5/6. Assuming it’s singular/plural, but maybe not.

The problem is we didn’t get much discussion in the way of confirmers. D1iab mentioned h4, but no one said anything about it. R6 was brought up a couple times as having a decent shot. PC mentioned a “different” p8 as well as g5/6 which no one reacted to. R8 went from confirmer to the lead, and also became an opposite, and it was mentioned that maybe people were thinking of different r8s, haha.

Hard to tell which ones are worth focusing on. I feel pretty good about p4 and p8 and how they relate to hunting, but it’s possible that I’m way off. Only one way to find out!

the Ranger made me think what if p4 is park and p8 is...?

could be reservation or some kinda preserve

Preserve is a p8, but remember that p4 is an opposite. Park isn’t the opposite of ranger.

Yea you're right it should be prey/predator

Maybe something like assassin or some hunter synonyms?

maybe it's something random like lumberjack or some "huntery" occupation that's hard to get in 1

I’m not sure how lumberjack is opposite of roadkill. I would much prefer we go with something less random like hunter. Mercenary would’ve had a R5 Rambo confirmer and poacher is out because they never would’ve mentioned a p8. Fisherman/fishing would’ve had r3/4 rod/reel, and h6 hunter would’ve been a confirmer.

Poacher is p7, my bad. I’m still probably on hunter vs poacher just for simplicity sake. But acknowledging they didn’t highlight a p7.

B7 is 100% lock clue that woulda done in 1 by itself if woulda been on side to start so at least we get in 3

But if they think of the word they’ll deduce b7 as confirmer this turn

P6 is my pick. Not as good as H4, but they should get there.

I think we should go with unkq to unlock B card to 100% get it next turn

They are so far off and will likely course correct with the confirmers and new clue but in case we can’t risk not having b7 available

Q5 is the same as p6

I guess Q5 is about the same as P6. I'm not certain what B7 is, but I trust that it's a banger.
