Well I still think it should be related to the stock market, otherwise this clue is just weird.
Stock trader seems as good a guess as any imo unless you have any other ideas.
Yea just with them mentioning investor and this kind of stuff makes me think trader isn't going to be it, seems like something a little more complicated
But I don't think it's gonna be like corporate raider
I just don't know what else we're supposed to guess with the info we have.
Only other word that comes to mind and would be tough to clue for is entrepreneur.

Eh, I still wanna guess stock trader. It fits better and seems like the only reason you don't wanna guess it is because it seems too obvious or something.
just feels trader is less likely to be a word than entrepreneur, also less likely to elicit an immediate "gulp" from Nich
also feel they'd be talking/thinking about arts and antiques and various things that could be commonly traded
entrepreneur was your idea so if you don't wanna go with it i feel it's your shot to call, but seems more likely to me
dunno if there are any obvious words we're missing, i don't think it's going to be broker or manager or something like that
What about something like vendor?
R8 is supposed to be a fairly direct hit. That could be resell/er or retail/er. A7/10 was also mentioned, which could also be auction/eer.
So yeah, I'm on (stock) trader pretty hard...everything fits.
it feels wrong/too simple to me but i've felt stuff's been wrong plenty and it was right
if you feel strongly go ahead i suppose, but there's no Gordon Gecko G5 or G6 mention, would think there'd be some people to try or idk
It's probably wrong, but this is such a specific clue that I'm not sure how we get away from that area. Everything else mentioned feels significantly worse.
