SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and diff
J5 should get it instantly
N3 and S5 confirmers
Another S5 as well
Yeah j5 is huge
I think any of j5, w11, or a7 should get it tho
Keep the A card imo so J5 or W11
j5 better than w11; it's slightly better than a7 even
I prefer having jovw card because more letter options, but am fine with j5 and keeping the a card if ya'll want
are we all thinking of the same j5? not everyone knows what it is but if they do seems pretty slam dunky?
I interacted with someone once that I obviously thought 100% should know...and they hadn't heard of it before...and for that person not to know....makes me have some concerns about our guessers perhaps not having heard of this and this may not be as common everywhere
i know the w11 but you think it'll get it on its own? sort of easy from our side what we're going for but could go several ways from theirs couldn't it?
I'd be shocked if both zeus and bolt haven't heard of J5
I'm playing poker all night so don't wait on me i'm fine with any of the 3 just have a slight preference for J5
A seems like the more annoying card, would lean to using that
I also would prefer getting rid of the A card.
idk what a7 is but if it's great do it
the j5 I would know myself - I'd honestly be surprised if zeus knew it being from UK, bolt i'm not sure - so fine with that if you think they'll know it, obviously if they do they'll get our target
good with either
Jovw was much better card for western confirmers
Just more options in general with the 4 letters; a is kinda mid
I vote a7
Altoids
I wish I could think of what J5 is, but the lightbulb isn't going on, at least not immediately.
An altoid is a "curiously strong breath mint". The original flavor is peppermint (I think) and there's also a wintergreen, or some such variety.
J5 is julep. Mint julep is a cocktail. I'm pretty sure it's traditional to drink one at the Kentucky Derby while wearing an extravagant hat.
Aahahahba
Yh its mint
mint
well done
yeah, wintergreen, altoids and julep
s5 for spear(mint)
I went to a Hard Rock casino in Florida where the bartender hadn't heard of a mint julep before. He said he could make anything if I explained what it was - I told him it was pretty popular especially further north and after looking it up he made one, and said it was pretty good!
Some other people also had no idea so that experience made me think it may be a regional/not too common thing
My N3 was new, other S5 sauce
ha I thought one of the s5's was sprig
Round 18:
Cards used: 20
Guessers: bolt/d1
The Board:
S | T | M | IH | UNKQ | JOVW
The target word:
I've pmed the word to doctor zeus, amazingervin, pogcrazy94, ibedrummin, insanity31
NOTE: These are the last 6 cards in the round
t5 the obvious confirmer
and t4/5 as well
T5 and S8 first thoughts
S6 is pretty good - mildly shadowfaxy
yeah s8 should get it with the confirmers
2 different s8s but one is much better
there is an s6 that's more generic but there is an excellent S6 that could be a shadowfax

I'm not a huge drinker, so I wouldn't know how regional it actually is, but I can't recall ever seeing anyone order a mint julep.
I'll bet the Hard Rock bartender knew how to make a mojito!
