I clue liquids - 2 to try and get the two actual liquids on the board, you go tap, but fine, port is next on the list they'll definitely guess port next round so all good.

I clue hiking - 3 they get all my words but somehow decide that port shouldn't be guessed because you think i'd overlap clues? You tag the assassin on as a last minute back up but it's not a big deal you got my 3 words so no worries

If I clue a n-1 clue you should know I'm telling you to guess something that was missed earlier, why you would guess the back up on the clue you GOT RIGHT over the clue you GOT WRONG is beyond me.

so if africa is assassin then you shouldn't do n-1 as that told us next on list is correct and we said port would not be on list if spring was ours

right or wrong about spring for liquid (a spring is a body of water, and spring water), we said port was only next if spring wasn't ours

I get the not overlapping clues part, but that's another reason africa could have been ours as spring may not have been a hiking word, but instead africa was

regardless, we said our next word on list was africa

we never know if we got the words you wanted for a clue...we coulda spursed something...but next on list can still be right, and often is

I'm sure it is frustrating that we got rid of port from our list, but we did, so going n-1 was never going to work because we explicitly said it was off the list if spring was ours; you can only clue based on our list even when our list is wrong

I read the backup list as Africa being next.

I didn't go for the win on my previous turn because I knew Donk had to do a 3 clue which was tough. I was pinning my hopes on getting another turn and eb and IBD piecing all the breadcrumbs together.

I knew it was tenuous and so many other things could fit, but I was expecting at worst Duck to be off the board and perhaps even a backup word being good. If that was the case then a 2 clue could win on the final turn.

Thought it was all falling in place when eb suggested

but it wasn't to be as you went for the backup list first. Which I totally get when the main clue isn't at all clear.

I dont know how to control the operatives just deciding that i suck as a spymaster and would clue for words twice in a row. Made the game 100000% harder.

That's not actually what he said. Spring could have been an answer for liquids and *not* for hiking, and that is actually the assumption we were making based on your 2 clue. You can argue that the n-1 rule was misused, but we probably did have to go for the win here and don't know what else we should have done.

Also, and this is on me - I forgot that port was a kind of wine, and not just a thing boats dock in. Remember that likely would have changed the answers

Im just frustrated because spring was not even on your list for liquids so i had no idea you were even considering it and suddenly its so obviously a liquids word that I would never be able to get you to guess port ever again. How am i supposed to know not to clue for spring? I have no idea how to connect piano cell AND port and i imagine even if i tried port would remain on the do not guess list and something else would be guessed.

Obviously everyone in pog is 9999999999999x smarter than my dumb useless ass so all this seems asinine to everyone else

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again but what's obvious to one person isn't necessarily obvious to another. Nobody is trying to lose. Nobody is bad, people just see things differently.

There are exceptions to the above obviously, but I don't think so this time.
