xander biscuits requests: a movie puzzle
Wasn't going to do another one of these but I have some spare time right now so why not (and xander requested one).
It's a go if I can get 8 (or more) 2+2ers to play along.
There are 3 IMDB users where we know every movie they've ever seen.
Your task: name as many of these watched movies as possible + pick the most obscure movies that they've seen.
We rank by number of movies seen (higher the better) and the average number of ratings (lower the better).
We combine those two scores to determine the winner.
No skill with your first pick as you have nothing to go by but after each round there are more clues as to which movies might be best to pick.
We want at least 8 2+2ers plus we'll have 2 random entries for at least 10 entries.
The reason for the random entries is so no 2+2er will finish last. If they do, hang your head in shame.
The randoms pick a random cast member and select a random movie from their filmography. Then each round they just keep repeating that selection process (using their current picked movie).
The starting point for the randoms are the 2 movies I watched yesterday.
If either random runs into a dead end they have to go back to the start.
Just put your picks in threads here. You cannot pick a movie that has already been picked.
Just feature films (no documentaries but animation is OK).
Rounds will be every 24 hours or whatever time period might be more popular with the entrants.
Feel free to make your first pick (movie name + year) as no skill is required for that one.

Just to get things rolling here are the 1st picks of the random entries:
Random #1 picked "The Snorkel" (1958)
Random #2 picked "The Cheyenne Social Club" (1970)
Not sure I totally understand the rules, but let's go with Mean Streets (1973).
McCabe and Mrs. Miller (1971)
Paths of Glory (1957)
are we allowed to lookup the year of our movie guess or do we have to know movie and year for all guesses?
research is OK and encouraged
once we've done a few rounds and you have a "profile" of each movie watcher you'll need IMDB to find another likely match
. It’s number rankings not low ratings
One sec
Companion (2025)
That's interesting. A movie released just 5 days ago.
It may end up with a zillion ratings but after only 5 days the # of ratings should be low.
But then after just 5 days is it likely that any of these 3 has seen it? Maybe.
BTW: I downloaded these "Movies I've Seen" lists yesterday. I won't download them again so you won't find any movies released after Feb 4th.
Yeah, swung for the fences
Let's double it up!
Instead of 3 lists of "Movies I've Seen", lets go for 6.
3 yesterday were people who had watched movies I'd seen: 2 that I'd watched the day before and 1 modern movie.
Now I've added 3 more:
#4 is someone who has seen at least 1 obscure movie
#5 is someone who has seen at least 1 non-English movie
#6 is me! I can't play myself so why not add my list (I have an IMDB account). But that means not using 2+2 for research: I may have mentioned some movies I've seen on previous threads.
Still 4 more entries until we start. And Nicholasp27 is losing ground the longer we wait. So help out Nicholas27 and enter right away so we can get started!
Looks like this one has crawled to a stop.
I'll wait for 8 2+2 entries until 5:30 (Las Vegas time) before calling it a day (or proceeding).
For more fun, everyone is now flocking to the new and exciting "Hollywood SuperBowl". See you there!
Ooops. Not much interest in this one. We wanted at least 8 entries but got just 4.
I hope you're all working on your Hollywood SuperBowl entries.
That one should be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
And that one has no limit on the # of entries. It's a go rain or shine.
