Scoring is in a 3x3 grid around the target square

guessers:
3 points for correct square
2 points for one of the 8 touching the right square
1 point for one of the 12 touching that boundary (not the corners)

clue giver:
1 point per marker inside the 9 square boundary

as seen in image below:
yellow: 3+2 = 5 points
white: 2 + 2 = 4 points
clue giver: 4 in the square = 4 points

I've actually played this before and iirc you can't say stuff like red/green/etc, but you can use words that are also colours like ruby/jade.

You might want to allow people to choose the same square, as I am assuming we will be sending our guesses to the clue giver by PM. It would be a pain to have to go back to someone for a new guess.

Usually it goes in snake draft for putting marker and it’s public so I figured we’d just have clue giver give clue then each person bold their square in order.

Would take slightly longer than just letting it be free for all and people get same square tho, but I figured more fun if people posted their square and reasoning rather than being super secretive and competitive via pm

Clue Giver Instructions:
0. Watch the 3 minute video in ArcticKnight's post 5 above this to understand rules and how to play
1. Go to random.org and rand a number 1-30
2. Go to https://randomwordgenerator.com/letter.p... and generate a letter. If it's Q-Z, re-rand until you get a letter A-P
3. Your target square is the one in the row of your letter, column of your number
4. Do this up to 4 times and then pick one of the 4 squares to be your official target.
5. Think of a ONE WORD clue for the color and bold it in the thread
6. After everyone has bolded their pick for a square, think of a TWO WORD clue and clue that. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE A SECOND CLUE. If you already like the guesses and your score, then you can PASS instead and we score immediately. Otherwise, you give a 1-2 word clue and then everyone bolds their next square in reverse turn order and then we score.
7. Once everyone has guessed 2nd square or you passed after the first clue is guessed, you reveal the target square and we score.

The word given may be
anything EXCEPT the
following:
•May not be a
common color name
(orange, blue, green, yellow
etc.) but may be an abstract
color name (chartreuse,
golden, lavender, etc.).
•May not refer to the color’s
position on the board or the
letters and numbers.
•Second clue can't be related to positional from first guesses, like lighter or darker or up or down or whatever

Guesser Instructions:
1. After the clue giver has bolded their first One Word clue, we'll go down the list in turn order bolding a square (e.g, A5, P10). You cannot choose a square already taken this round.
2. If the clue giver elects to give a second clue after everyone has made their first guess, we'll go down the list in reverse turn order bolding a second square. You cannot choose a square already taken this round, including those taken after the first clue.
3. After you bold your guess, pm the next person
4. You are allowed to post reasoning and thought process in the thread; only thing that matters for the game will be the bolded square guess you make

Scoring:
Clue Giver: 1 point for every guessed square in a 3x3 square with the target square in the center of that 3x3 square

Guessers:
* 3 points for target square
* 2 points for the other 8 squares in the 3x3 square around the target
* 1 point for the 16 squares touching that 3x3 square

So d1 will be up first to be clue giver. We have 7 so we'll just run through the list once, so each only cluing for one color per game.

d1, you can choose a square per instructions and then bold your one word clue when ready. Then bolt will be first to bold his square, then pog, then me, etc.
