Introducing the 2026 Wikipedia Cup (a NO RESEARCH competition)

My original Wikipedia quiz has garnered so much interest that I say "why not do a year long Wikipedia Cup?".
Indeed, why not!
Who will be the champion of general Wikipedia knowledge?

To get the race off to a smashing start here is quiz #2 (also due in by Sunday). This one is dead easy.

Who are these (very famous) people?

Albert Einstein
Alexei Navalny
Charlie Chaplin
Che Guevara
Christopher Columbus
Cy Young
Ed Sullivan
Fidel Castro
Gracie Fields
Imelda Marcos
Jean Renoir
Jesus Christ
John Candy
John Lennon
Liberace
Marco Polo
Nelson Mandela
Pele
Sidney James
Zhou Enlai

Send me a PM with the name + what Wikipedia claims they are famous for.

We take this from the introductory paragraph for each person: "so-and-so is a professional water polo player from Montevideo".
We strip off all adjectives, we just want the noun. In the above example, so-and-so is a "player". We don't care if he's the professional type or the water polo type. He's a player.
If Wikipedia has more than one thing that they are famous for you get 1 point for guessing the 1st answer, 1/2 for 2nd answer, 1/3 for third answer etc etc.
NOTE: Che Guevara is famous for 7 things - how can you go wrong there?

As usual NO RESEARCH.
