Are you still on war or anything else? My issue with it still is sorta...Russia is the one waging the war...there isn't really shelling and gunfire in Moscow itself(afaik) - I don't like to play "it could have been this clue" typically but doesn't Leningrad just seem much cleaner and also more clear for us?
Or like a Stalingrad - that would be completely unmissable for us...

Any comment on why it may not have been one of the other clues? Moscow I feel typically known as a city of history, culture, music, arts etc...
Like I understand the silly "all Russians are evil" stereotype but if the clue was Chicago or something we wouldn't be going war, we'd be looking for a Gettysburg or something to make that clear
Chicago isn’t currently invading another country. This has nothing to do with a stereotype. This is literally because Moscow has declared war on Kyiv.

Russia probably would’ve been a better clue for Atlantis/Phoenix/Snow/War. But that doesn’t mean this is something else, especially when the reason behind anything else hasn’t been articulated.
There’s a reason why this could be for war. What’s the reason it could be for anything else?
Bark - Moscow probably has a decent number of dogs; Putin “barks” a lot
Button - Moscow probably has some nuclear launch buttons somewhere
Diamond - Moscow probably has some people who have diamonds; the Moscow Mules are a single-A affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays
Drill - Moscow houses a large military presence, probably a lot of drills going on
Ground - Moscow, like many other locations, has a ground
Hospital - Moscow probably had it’s fair share of hospitals; you feel there’s a famous one
War - Moscow is the capital of Russia, a country that is currently engaged in a widely publicized war with a neighboring country; Moscow has been the site and source of multiple wars in its history; like every other country, most of the decisions pertaining to engagement in war are probably made in its capital, which in Russia’s case, is Moscow
If you can think of a reason why the clue was Moscow and not Russia - and that reason was to sway us from war - then I say go for the clue you think fits better. I’m still on war. It’s 100% not dark orchid and we might still have another turn coming if it’s not ours.

Again to me it's - why THIS city? Any city gets us 2, any coldish place gets us snow, maybe it is this but eeeeeh...just sloppy and EB typically not sloppy idk
Just never seen EB sloppy in any way really, war just feels so off-brand/character to me here
Maybe I'm overthinking it but also think EB coulda thrown out an actual battleground cold city vs this seemingly foreseeable debate

And maybe stop with the whole “sloppy” thing, it’s insulting. I think the clue is pretty straightforward - and you even said war made sense in your initial post after the clue. I think you’re overthinking it, which is what you tend to do.

I always get skeptical when a 4(+1 in this case) clue hits the exact stuff on the last turn because that seems "just too perfect" so often convince myself that can't be it
Great clues EB and great job IBD not letting me stray away
I always took Moscow as Russia + Phoenix
cluing Russia can be seen as denying the city-level geography, so Moscow was better imo
I can't feel too bad about losing when I only get 2 turns.
Ground was the other one for lake and biology was rabbit.
