Deep meditative practices, Fasting, Self Isolation, Sleep Deprivation. Nirvana? Or Psychosis?

The link between intense meditation, especially coupled with fasting, isolation and other self sacrifices (think Jesus in the desert, Mohammad, Buddha, …😉 and psychotic events (in some people with other predispositions , obviously) is well established nowadays, and yet, we don’t see many (any?) talking about the links. What if all the prophets really experienced was psychosis, caused by their own intense and severe practices? Anyone wanting to expand on this?

It would follow that billions of people, the majority of humanity, are so detached from truth and reality to the point of basically being lost and blind.

Only a tyrant would want this to be true, so they can justify their desire to use force on other people. Do you resist this view and exhaust every other possibility?

Some could say the world we, normals, see is the actual illusion, Maya.

Deception is ubiquitous, but it’s one thing to believe humanity at large is deceived by that which resembles or imitates reality, and another to see all religion as completely foreign to truth and reality.

The latter will result in a very dark view on humanity which should be resisted.
