You Must Go Back and Reread

As alluded to by the parable of the weeds, when you read (or watch / listen to) religious texts, stories, posts, podcasts, etc, you are growing both wheat and weeds in your field. At harvest time, these words get presented to your judge who then bundles + burns the weeds and stores the wheat.

Here is the issue: your judge isn’t anywhere near perfect. If you are only consuming fresh material, or only consuming material which confirms your understanding, then you are unlikely to make the leaps in progress you need.

It’s essential to go back and reread for the purpose of searching for what had been bundled and burned yet now has life. The first reason to do this is to bring to your awareness the errors of your judge. This is the beginning step toward judging, defying, and eventually upgrading your judge.

The second reason you want to do this is because whatever has been thrown into the fire and survives has been tested to the highest degree. There is a level of trust and reliability you can place on it.
