Seeking affordable microstakes help

Seeking affordable microstakes help

Hello,

Not sure if a study group or coach is what I am looking for.

I play microstakes NL, as often as I am able to. I find at best I run the hamster wheel but I continue to lose money slowly if I am being honest with myself.

Around playing, I read and review Play Optimal Poker. Finding people to discuss this book in depth would be good as it is a lot for me to digest, along with other resources I'm looking to be more familiar with such as GTO+, precision poker and H2N when I can spring for a subscription. Given my schedule and how I learn, atypically to most others, my focus lately has been on understanding POP and integrating that into my thinking. I recognize that I need more hands for H2N to be of much use to me anyways and I am trying to get more time in, to that end.

I'm open to learning other resources although this is the bulk of what I have access to. I reognize GTO wizard and H2N4 seem to be where it is at these days.

Let me know if you're able to help, or what resources out there may be able to, and I'd be glad to look into them and discuss further if need be. Thank you.

How many hands do you have in your database right now?

If you post some of your basic stats in the stat thread: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/32/be... slyless, myself, and/or others would likely respond with some feedback.

If you're on a tight budget and are wondering what is going to give you the most bang for your buck, then I typically recommend an essential subscription to runitonce ($25/month). It's not perfect and not necessarily super structured, but for $25 and access to so many videos it is hard to go wrong.

For free resources GTOwiz website for ranges and their youtube channel is reasonably good value. There are some other free youtube resources along with some cash streamers on twitch. Again, not perfect, but for someone playing microstakes it should still help.

I'd also recommend posting your own hands in the Online No-limit hold'em cash subforum here or responding to other threads. Runitonce also has a forum although it is not super active the feedback for hands there seems to be a little bit better than the feedback here on average also.

Thanks for the thoughtful input.

I have 172k hands from 2024. Altogether I have 216k hands.

Which cash streamers on twitch would I do well to look at? Are there RIO essential instructors you'd vouch for, more than others?

honestly I'll help you for free. your OP reminds me a bit of myself in the past. I have no problems beating micros and would be willing to give you coaching for an hour or two which I'm sure will help. You don't need to over-do it with the study methods at the micro level, and you should be able to beat it without a HUD. I don't use a HUD myself.

I'm interested. There are no HUDs on the site I play on so I'm half way there. 😀

DMing you to discuss further. Thank you for thinking of me.

If you wanna chat on discord I can probably help steer you to being more profitable. I've played around 3 mill hands and am very profitable at micros. Been playing for about 15 years. Started off on this forum myself in the beginner's questions back in 2008. Shoot me a PM if you wanna chat and have some questions. I've read the book you cited but I can probably help you flesh out what you're missing.
