Long Time Grinder Looking Ahead at 2026 WSOP
Hi everybody, my name is John and I'm considering getting a backer for the 2026 WSOP and just wanted to get in early, see what was out there and maybe build a relationship pre-series. Havent posted on 2+2 in about 20 years but I'm looking to play a full schedule of smaller events including Razz/Stud8/HORSE, all games I've played extensively.
Have played full time for 13 years or so split between two runs (10 years before I had kids, got a regular job for the entire time my kids were growing up, now back at it since they are grown). I have always been MTT focused though I'm pretty well known these days in south Texas and have played a lot of bigger cash games down there as well.
Historic and Current Stats:
Stars From my initial run (Nty9problems) : 10, 038 tournaments at a 50$ ABI, 32.3% ROI
FTP from my initial run (ConfusedPenguin): 3589 tournaments at a 40$ ABI, 62.8% ROI
2026 So far (Some ACR, mostly WPTGold, bit of clubGG) (OneDayAtATime) : 1016 Tournaments, 36$ ABI, 65% ROI
I play and played a lot of tables, generally everything from like the 3$ rebuy back in the day to the 5$ mystery bounty these days all the way up to 218s and some 530s with success at all buyin levels.
Have played a lot of live in the last few years as well but mostly 300$ daily type stuff, lots of success there as well with some FTs and wins of various series events and local tournament series and a million wins of the 300-400$ dailies but nothing huge. Also on a ton of streams and such so there's a lot of evidence available for how/what I play, etc.
Have always played pretty conservatively bankroll-wise and I'd love to take the shot playing a full schedule but just never really felt like taking a chunk of my bankroll to shot-take.
Just wanted to see if there were people out there still looking for horses of this style and if there is any interest level. I'm not a real exciting guy, a bit older, no vices, have had plenty of staking deals for online stuff in the past, familiar with most arrangements, etc. Have a lot of experience and a good style for 2026 live and online poker I think, so feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions. Have references, etc if needed.

Hey John, I'm willing to look the WSOP schedule, but what really interest me is a backing deal for you to play online.
