2024 Summer Olympics from Paris
Amazed we don't have a thread yet. I will do up a fancier OP tomorrow but this will do for now as a placeholder.
Women's softball opens the games in roughly 5hrs with soccer/football, archery and some other sports starting before the opening ceremony Friday night Japan time.
PREDICTIONS: Rona causes a stupid amount of issues, I still waste approx 100hrs of coverage anyway.
USA#1&2! Bye losers.
It's dumb that swimmers can do 80 events, but we can't figure out how to stagger it so that Bol and Sydney can at least compete in 400, 400h, 4x400 and 4x400 mixed. This is probably the best rivalry in ages, and we'll prob only see them H2H in one event.
Did not look like much of a rivalry tbh
That was a demolition
This must have been one of the worst races by Bol.
BOL <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< SML
blew her ass away
not even on the same planet as her
wow, what a blowout. fantastic race by the American!
felt bad for bol sobbing into her parents arms
On paper, Parchment should win this.
Embiid haters furious
lol SRB for not fouling earlier
you tried
you really really did
Awesome game. Really butchered that end of game though
Coaches are so dumb. What if we let 20 seconds run off before we foul do you think that would help?
everything is coming up USA#1 lately in Paris
I will say though team sport we didn't do well at and need to improve in 4 years time - women's football, men and women's hockey and men and women's basketball and on that just saw the USA scrape in.
Pretty much men’s Olympic sport too, with a few exceptions.
The sheilas have been ****ing incredible

Swimming wise anyway - tbh because we are such an outside country and do a lot of men and women joint activities it lifts the women's performances which is why on average they can achieve those high results internationally
