2024 Summer Olympics from Paris
Amazed we don't have a thread yet. I will do up a fancier OP tomorrow but this will do for now as a placeholder.
Women's softball opens the games in roughly 5hrs with soccer/football, archery and some other sports starting before the opening ceremony Friday night Japan time.
PREDICTIONS: Rona causes a stupid amount of issues, I still waste approx 100hrs of coverage anyway.
BRA clearly the better side early
U.S. living on the edge. VAR PotG so far for the U.S.
"Gunn, a 36-year-old Australian university lecturer known in breaking as b-girl Raygun, lost all three of her round-robin battles by a combined score of 54-0 on Friday."
WTF
Porcillo is a shameless flopper. U.S. looks tired, and service into the box have been LOLterrible.
floodgates about to open for USA
Brazilians whine a bit much.

Oh it was indeed that bad
Which was magnificent
I had never seen this Madison event before and am absolutely perplexed. 200 laps, 30 bicycles on the track yet noone falls? Points for sprints every so often, points for lapping, are there also points for who finishes first or what is the purpose of these points?
What is this madness?
#3 on Brazil is soooooo annoying
Oh I believe the British sub was just the first to fall as he didn't anticipate the Dutch guy barging past (who is trying to lap everyone? I have no idea)
Rodman seems like she can run forever, which I guess isn't surprising.
the stretchers coming out in soccer will always amuse me
the U.S. women back atop their perch
it is a beautiful thing
ty Emma Hayes
that was a fun 100m hurdles
0.03 bt gold and bronze

its pretty bad tbh. too crowded, cant tell what is going on
soon though we have two of the top 5 best olympic events
the KIERIN, which features a motorbike and where the goal appears to be to crash into as many people as possible
and
the ELIMINATOR, where twenty people go out there, and if you are last after 5 laps you are OUT. so now there are 19 left, if you are last after a further 3 laps you are OUT, and so on until there are two left. its BRILLIANT
Lol eat **** Ethiopia
Men's high jumpoff for gold. Other option (which I would definitely choose) is for both dudes to get a gold.
in the high jump can competitors choose what height they want to attempt? if so, once they choose a height can they choose a shorter height later?
i mean it looks like they just go higher and higher but the legs are just dead, so the chances of hitting higher jumps goes down drastically as the legs get more and more fatigued
i'd like a scenario where the misses at a height still count, but you can go down to another height if you wish. this way we have competitors fresh and going for high jumps straight away when the legs are freshest
relay just just had the 200m champ vs the 400m hurdles champ over 400m flat, that was great, 200m guy nearly did it despite starting a few meters behind
full credit to the yank who refused to split the gold medal and instead forced the jump off. a gold in such circumstances is tainted.
Wow Gabby almost ran off the track on the hand off ... which I assume is a DQ?
Relay Femke Bol is a different beast.
How do you bring Tatum in the gold medal game in the 1st quarter but not against Serbia?
