Lights out and here we go! - 2023 Formula 1

2023 is upon us

2022 wasn't terrible, but the WDC was done and dusted way too early. Let's take it to (the) Max this year!

Hot takes:

  • 1-2-3 VER-RUS-LEC
  • 1-2-3 RB-Merc-Fer
  • Nyck going to get more points than Yuki
  • Checo won't win a single race
  • Mclaren will fall out of the midfield and battle for 8-9th
  • Ocon and Gasly will take each other out of the race twice

Let's hope for a tight title race and competition until the last lap!

Guenter Steiner gone from Haas.
Netflix must be gutted.

Hamilton to Ferrari? Would be an interesting start to the year.

Power move! Fred’s best decision so far as Ferrari principal [emoji106]

v much looking forward to lewis regularly finishing 9th in his big red tractor (when he should've finished 6th if not for a horrible strategy mixup)

wowee. Lewis can’t be happy with this year’s car

Lewis: "I'm switching to Ferrari!!
Reporter: "But didn't Ferrari finish third behind Mercedes last year??"
Lewis: "I'm switching to Ferrari!!
Reporter: "Uhh OK"

That gives me a really bad feeling for this season. The only reason I see him doing this is if Mercedes in simulations is barely ahead of last season RedBull.

The Scuderia doesn't like Whiny drivers... how long is this relationship going to last

They be all right, I think they have seen it all, been in the game too long, nothing will surprise them.

Current grid drivers are the softest, nerdiest bunch I’ve ever seen in professional sports. Think Bottas, Nico and Kevin only are considered men.
(Perhaps Alonso too)

Others complain, btch, whine, flop like NBA players.

Albon getting an offer from RedBull? Happy for him but somehow not sure I believe it.

Actually think he’ll be happier being King at Williams than a sidekick to Max at RB. But getting opportunity to drive the best car on grid is hard to pass up and will be in contention for wins weekly is enticing.

Lewis is surely just doing this to say he drove for Ferrari when he does those post-racing interviews in 20 years time

Not sure about that. This is an easy take for him if true.

Yes - are you offering? 😀

Horner appears to be in some sort of trouble

Albon in RB, I'm all for it, but I don't believe it

He always kind of creeped me out...

I don’t know how bad it would have to be for anything other than a slap on the wrists.

He’s so valuable to RB - less so F1 but still valuable given RB and Max

Guessing it would need to be something really awful and indisputable with a woman or a crime that gets him to prison

As cool as it seems to be to hate Horner on Twitter, I am actually a fan of his, I believe he has done a brilliant job as the leader of Red Bull racing, seems intelligent and well spoken. Huge asset to any corporation.

Hope this is all a nothing burger. If the complaint is that his management style is too aggressive, it’s ridiculous how exaggerated all this has become in the media. Would be so embarrassing if he really did something sexually inappropriate to a lady staff member. Deserves to be canned and career ruined.

It is part of a power struggle in RedBull sports between the Austrians and the Thais. Horner is in the Thai camp. These allegations would have been bought off long before getting public otherwise.

Never had him down as the type after he binned off his wife for the lunatic he is currently with. Still, you live and learn. Anyway, this pre-season has had far more entertainment than last year's race season.

Spoiler
Show

Sounding like it is a bit of a beat up and not surprising that inevitably we would see a claim like this with all the success of F1 and trying to cash in.

The bad guy is Horner and not Marko?

Having Bernie Ecclestone advocating for you is never a good look.

Watched latest DTS. Netflix kinda stuck a huge middle finger to RB & Max lolz. Record breaking, GOAT season and basically nothing about Max, Horner, Checo and Red Bull haha

Such an entertaining show. Amazing production quality.
