Go ahead and find Man City quilty already or do what you do best. Dock Everton 4 more points.

Why not both?

You know you're busto when your loan sharks haven't got any money left.

Was very surprised to read about issues with Everton's takeover in a story about a random regional airline in Australia going busto today

New PL spending cap agreed in principle, from 2025/6 on.

Clubs would only be allowed to spend five times the commercial and broadcast revenue of the lowest team in the division.

For an example, since 20th-placed Southampton earned £103.6m in 2022/23, the cap would have been £518m. Chelsea would have breached that cap, and Manchester City would have come close to a breach. Neither club voted in favour of the proposal.

LOL a cap that only one club would be breaching? Not going to level the playing field much (not that this is the point).

Maguire said that Chelsea only breached it due to having to pay settlements and paying up Potters wages, so wouldn’t be breaking it next season.

Overall though, it’s a complete and utter waste of time.

I don't agree it's a total waste of time, but more should be done to lower the cap.

Clubs are finding new and creative ways around FFP or w/e it's replacement is called, including selling their own property to themselves, so if they're going to cook the accounts on the revenue side then they have to be stopped on the expenditure side I guess.

Yup. Especially as if I’m understanding it right, it’s more strict than what UEFA has in place that the PL already abides by for European competition. It’s not solving for X in England and it could harm English clubs in Europe (if I’m understanding it right that is).

I would like the cap to be lower too but would definitely prefer to have it rather than no cap at all.

It's pretty obvious they decided to allow clubs to spend up to around 500M p.a. (which its too much imo) because otherwise how could their darlings Man Utd (who nevertheless voted against the cap) ever claw their way back to relevance over a reasonable timeframe?

[James McNicholas, The Athletic] Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for Gabriel Jesus in the summer

weird. why is the second best striker in the league available?

In case they can't sell Nketiah. They don't need both if they're getting another attacker and although he's the best dribbler at the club his finishing is woeful and his injury record also puts him at risk.

ten Hag going, Zidane parachuted in? Blimey.

source? The mail is saying he's going to stay as of 40 minutes ago

How does one parachute Zidane in in May?

Injuries gonna injury. They wouldn't sell him because he's not an incredible player, they'd be selling him because his knee got ruined thanks to Brazil being morons.

Zidane will always be linked with United whenever a reporter needs clicks. It’s not happening. Like, why on earth would Zidane want to walk into this and deal with a country he doesn’t want to live in or speak a language he supposedly doesn’t speak?

Given the lack of real options, I don’t see United sacking Ten Hag this summer when there’s a lot of players they need to move out. If United completely collapse and don’t qualify for Europe, then it could be a possibility

otoh why would they trust a failing manager with a huge transfer budget and the wholesale firesale of their players?

The United dilemma. Too big to succeed.

In terms of non arsenal things that'd id love to see, eth staying in the united job is def up there.

fyp.

Yea I'd defo take Southgate over Eth at any day.

I havent looked that far down the table. Where are they now? Sixth?

I’m old enough to remember when the fans wanted Purple Nose out for finishing third one season and Charlton had to come out and tell them they were mad to get them to stfu lol.

I don’t know what the gto line is for the club apart from sack every single decision maker and sell most of the players, and start again with ambitious young talent and a couple of older heads, which isnt going to happen thanks to the rabid fan base hooked on big names.

The clear out is pretty much a given no?

Probably, but how many times has the squad been refreshed since they won the PL, and how many managers have they had?

Sancho's reversion to an electrifying winger now he's escaped from there is brilliant.

Don't they also pay almost half his salary while he plays in a Champions League semi-final which is something United hasn't done in over 10 years?
