my only strong feeling on this is that west ham are going to STINK and moyes will probably get canned.

everything else seems pretty fairly priced.

rats. moyes out, not canned, and they hit the over

whomp whomp

actual table vs line disparities:
- the promoted teams were garbage
- lolchelsea
- LOLUNITED
- fair play to villa and emery

the thing about this year is that there's a WAY smaller gap between the non pool/arse/city teams and the other non promoted teams. here's the npxgd of 4th-17th. .7xgd seperates them. That's usually the gap from like 3rd to 6th or there abouts in most years. It's pretty unprecedented. There's bascally no Champions league, but not title contender level teams and just a gigantic mid table.

normally you have a couple teams in the .4-.7 range and there's just one of that this year. so when all the teams are that close in team strength it can just be a variance fest of where teams end up.

This united team is insanely lucky to not be on the bottom half of the table.

Taking full responsibility for this as I bet them to finish in the bottom half of the table @ 14/1 with bet365 a little bit into the season.

Apparently Jonny Evans failed a fitness test two days ago but Ten Hag asked him to play anyway. Arsenal game could get messy for them.

Ex-Chelsea coach Gwyn Williams has been secretly banned for life from football in the wake of the club's bullying and racism scandal.

FA probe concluded Williams — credited for discovering John Terry — posed “a risk of harm to children”.

Documents seen by The Athletic reveal ex-Chelsea coach Graham Rix was banned for life from U18 girls’ football in 2019 due to underage sex offences.

Rix was also suspended for 2 years while FA investigated his part in bullying and racism scandal.

Could?! Oh, it will be very messy and I have zero intention on watching the match

I got +500 not top 6 and +150 not top 4 pre season. If eth stays I'ma fire united to get relegated next season.

Need to up my on the beach mindset coefficient for my model with Fulham for this weekend.

all we need to do is figure out a way to get the top 3 teams to have a 0.3 npxgd and the premier league will be interesting again 😃

So, this J-Lop bloke, is he any good?

I hope he hasn’t made a terrible mistake.

I mean, he'll get paid a lot of money, he'll just have to put up with David Sullivan inserting his own agents into all deals, preventing us from signing anyone decent.

It's a bit like the Yes, Minister clip regarding the EU.

The funniest possible outcomes for the season:

Spurs some how luckbox a draw vs city helping arsenal win the title, despite trying extremely hard to completely throw the game.
City lose the fa cup to united keeping ETH in a job.
Bayern lose the CL final to dortmund to ensure kane has another trophyless season.

It would be the Spursiest thing in the world if they somehow manage a point or three out of the City game clearing a path to the title for Arsenal. I'm here for it!

Also in for ETH staying in the job and Kane going trophyless yet again.

Definitely going to be some popcorn worthy activity over the Everton ownership this summer.

Seems Moshiri is going to finally bin off the cowboys he had lined up for the takeover after having them paying the running costs for the last 8 months. They themselves are broke and aren't able to pay the wages at Standard Liege so suspect they will be wanting their money back pretty sharpish. ~200mil.

Everton already owe multiple hundreds of millions to a couple of other creditors at eye watering interest rates and Moshiri himself has pumped in close to half a billion. (Good chance he owes this to Usmanov).Theres also hefty penalties in play if they can't come up with the remaining funding for the new stadium. Really looks like adminstration unless some white knight appears.

So, how ****ed are Everton? Are we talking on Portsmouth levels where we can see them fall down the ladder real fast or more in a Bolton situation? It’s been a bit since a club was this screwed financially in the premier league (that I can remember off the top of my head)

Would be extremely amusing if Everton get several knocks for spending too much and then lose 10 points for entering administration.

I admire the dedication to relegate Everton even if they stay up

And still stay up!

And still stay up!

Funnily enough that would be less amusing

found a fun new site for stats stuff for people into that sort of thing:

Haaland you wanker

brazil squad for upcoming tournament

Midfielders: Pereira (Fulham), Guimaraes (Newcastle), Luiz (Aston Villa), Gomes (Wolves), Paqueta (West Ham)

which of us of a certain vintage could've ever imagined that brazil's whole midfield would play their club football for a gaggle of medium sized premier league teams. weird.

That does give off weird vibes

Gvardiol dropping the "I scored 2 already" and not taking the pen is cold. But also painful for fpl
