**** 2023 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

After TEN outstanding years as the GOAT PEEHS Drehpehs, the founder of our beloved game KrazyKris has decided to call it a career. This game has been so much fun, and brought this community together over the years, that I felt it’d be a shame if it ended here. With Kris’ blessing, I’m taking up the mantle and hosting the game so it continues!

As will quickly become apparent, I’m not Kris. I promise I’m not as creative or funny or thorough with my reveals, and you can FORGET about the yearly stats breakdown! I’ll do my best to get the reveals up in a timely manner, but I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays. On that note, I won’t be available for Thanksgiving, so Rawlz517 has graciously volunteered to step in for a guest reveal. If I need more help with reveals, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

It’s more important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first and last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons

Chiefs

Saints

Nick Chubb…

Our final 4-point correct answer is Jared Goff. There are storylines galore in play for the first playoff game in Ford Field since forever! Goff threw for 30 TD's in 2023.

Question 18 closes with three aces. Tua Tagovailoa has stayed healthy all year, and thrown for 29 scores.

It was a pretty bold play to take Baker Mayfield for this question, as he wasn't even guaranteed the starting job until the preseason. But he rewarded his backers, and threw for 28 TD's in 2023.

Precept24

But no one was bolder than going HOMER for the WIN, and backing Jordan Love in his FIRST full season as the starting quarterback! Love threw for 32 touchdowns in 2023, second in the league only to Dak! Congrats to RRPP for the vindication in rolling with the Pack!

With a SHEEP score of 8, plus 7 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 15 for this question.

Here are the scores after 18 questions!

It's tightening up at the top, here in the home stretch!

I'm feeling good, let's keep revealing!

19. Name a QB/RB with 1,075+ rushing yards

by nath k

Hahaha I took a hilariously awful beat on one season-ending question today. You'll find out which soon enough.

Also, it looks like only four players crossed the 1075-yard rushing threshold this season (and I wouldn't be surprised if two of them went unguessed). Maybe we need to drop that one back down to 1k.

Yes, this may be sage advice.

Kris initially bumped the qualifier to 1075 yards to account for the 17th game in the regular season.

But it seems like the 1000 yard mark is a milestone that players strive for, and then rest on their laurels once they hit it.

There were 8 more backs that broke 1k yards, but finished less than 1075.

We'll do this reveal a little differently. There were 6 correct answers, and 40 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the corrects first.

As nath predicted, there were two unplayed correct answers.

Kyren Williams, 1,144 yards
James Cook, 1,122 yards

We have two correct answers, both played by 3 players.

Christian McCaffrey is your NFL rushing leader, with 1,459 yards (5.4 per carry!). He also added 561 receiving yards, and 21 total touchdowns.

Our other 3-point correct is Derrick Henry. He played in all 17 games, and led the NFL in carries, with 280. The prototypical bell cow back, he had another fantastic year, rushing for 1,167 yards.

We'll reveal the incorrects by popularity.

Your SHEEP answer for this question, played by 7 players, is Nick Chubb. He tragically went down for the season way back in week 2.

Our next incorrects are a pair of would-be 5 pointers. Bijan Robinson had a nice start, and my terrible Falcons generally had an effective ground game, but it was split among three productive backs. Bijan ran for 976 yards in 2023.

Also played by 5 players, our next incorrect is Tony Pollard. He ran for 1,005 yards this season.

Our next incorrects are a quartet of would-be 3-point answers.

The only quarterback selected for this question is Justin Fields. He finally seemed to be putting it together, as the Bears played better as the season went along. Fields finishes 2023 with 657 rushing yards. He was selected by BOTH of our top 2 on the podium! ...Sneaky.

Also played by 3 players, our next incorrect is Josh Jacobs. His efficiency took a step back in 2023, and he rushed for 805 yards.

Our next would-be 3-pointer is David Montgomery. He DID break 1k, finishing with 1,015 yards. He also out-rushed his backfield mate, the unselected rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, who himself rushed for an impressive 945 yards.

Booker Wolfbox

Our final would-be 3-pointer is Saquon Barkley. He rushed for 962 yards in 2023.

The remaining 5 incorrects are would-be ace hunters.

If you live by the homer, sometimes you die by the homer. Aaron Jones had a mostly injury-plagued season in 2023, though he did look effective when he was in there.

RunRunPassPunt

Alexander Mattison was given the Vikings lead back job, but he only ran for 700 yards in 2023.

AussieJack

Another back that had an injury-plagued year was Austin Ekeler. He finished with 628 yards.

sixfour

Khalil Herbert ran for 611 yards for the Bears this year.

Schlitz mmmm

Our final incorrect for this question is Najee Harris. He produced a workmanlike 1,035 yards in 2023.

Jimmy Proffett

With a SHEEP score of 7, plus 2 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 9 for this question, and our corrects will receive a score of 3.

Whoops. Ignore the previous scores post, I forgot to sort them in ascending order by total score.

Here are the CORRECT scores through question 19!

That'll be all for today!

I'll try to reveal Questions 20 and 21 on Friday.
