**** 2023 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

After TEN outstanding years as the GOAT PEEHS Drehpehs, the founder of our beloved game KrazyKris has decided to call it a career. This game has been so much fun, and brought this community together over the years, that I felt it’d be a shame if it ended here. With Kris’ blessing, I’m taking up the mantle and hosting the game so it continues!

As will quickly become apparent, I’m not Kris. I promise I’m not as creative or funny or thorough with my reveals, and you can FORGET about the yearly stats breakdown! I’ll do my best to get the reveals up in a timely manner, but I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays. On that note, I won’t be available for Thanksgiving, so Rawlz517 has graciously volunteered to step in for a guest reveal. If I need more help with reveals, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

It’s more important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first and last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons

Chiefs

Saints

Nick Chubb…

I'm feeling good, let's reveal one more!

👍
(not that it matters to my score)

Our most popular incorrect answer, but NOT the SHEEP answer, was the 10 entrants who played the New Orleans Saints. They had live playoff scenarios heading into the final week, and even had Wild Card outs after resoundly thumping my Falcons, but Tampa Bay winning locked up the division.

Our next most popular incorrects are two would-be 4 pointers. Let's bless the hearts of the 4 people who thought the New York Jets might playoff this season. Maybe Rodgers will ride back in on a white horse to lead the Jets to the promised land in 2024. Maybe he'll just stick to lobbing irascible tweets on X. Thankfully, it seems like his appearances on McAfee have run its course.

Also played by 4 players, our next incorrect is the Tennessee Titans. Who knows where they go from here, as they finished last in a competitive division, and just fired a pretty good coach.

Our next incorrect, played by 3 players including yours truly, are my terrible Atlanta Falcons. Arthur Smith never got the best out of the talent he was given... and while the draft pedigree of the skill position players is high, whether they're actually good is more of an open question. As a fan in this for the long term, I'm happy to see the defense take a massive step forward relative to where it's been in previous years. We'll find out this offseason what the plan is for the head coach and the starting quarterback. Until then!

There were two ace-hunters for this question.

Things are looking up for the Chicago Bears. It looks like Fields is the guy, they're keeping Eberflus, and they have a war chest of draft picks to improve the team, or trade for even more draft picks. They didn't playoff this year, but maybe next year!

Schlitz mmmm

Our final incorrect is the Las Vegas Raiders. They're pressing the reset button again, and paying 3 people something like $80 million not to coach there. We'll see where they go from here, because Mahomes isn't going anywhere in their division.

The only unplayed correct answer for this question is the Houston Texans!

Led by a rookie head coach and a rookie QB, congrats to them for making it to the tournament.

This question's SHEEP answer was played by 14 players, making it one of the largest SHEEPs in the contest! The Detroit Lions ended the drought and won the division for the first time in 30 years, and will host a playoff game this season!

Our next correct was played by 4 players. Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers keep getting it done, winning ugly and getting back in the playoffs.

Our next correct was played by 3 players. The Cleveland Browns lost Nick Chubb for the season, and started 4 different quarterbacks, but through it all they've played fierce defense. They face off against the upstart Texans in the playoffs, TOMORROW!

There were no aces for this question.

Our final correct was played by 2 players. The Green Bay Packers are among the youngest teams in the league, and Jordan Love seemed to figure it out as the season went along. They have a date in Dallas with their former coach, Miguel Gordo.

With a SHEEP score of 14, plus 4 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 18 for this question.

by TJ Eckleburg12 k

Our other two point correct is Chris Olave. He had a few different quarterbacks throwing to him this season, but he was able to notch 1,123 yards.

J.E.C.
Jimmy Proffett

Just noting that while this statement is technically correct, Carr did start every game this year.

I knew as soon as you said the Saints weren't the sheep that the Lions would be. Didn't really have a lot of confidence in any other options so I played it safe.

Here are the scores after 21 questions!

The top 4 all missed that one, and newguyhere rockets up to the podium on the back of his 2-pointer!

Anyone's game now... it'll come down to the final 4 questions!

I'm gonna try to reveal questions 22, 23, and 24 during the PLAYOFF GAMES we get to watch on Sunday,

and I'll aim to reveal the FINAL QUESTION sometime Monday afternoon!

by TJ Eckleburg12 k

Our other would-be 2 pointer is the LA Charger Mike Williams. He only played in 3 games this season, for 249 yards.

Why the heck would I, the resident Dolfan, not just lock in Tyreek?

Easily the biggest mistake of my entire existence.

sometimes you just can't find the urge to select a domestic abuser

Aw yeah..... just one more to the bottom!

Hopefully I picked the jags then

I blame Hard Knocks. They get me every time. I'm glad I didn't have HBO when Indy was on or I'd probably still think they were a pretty good team too, lol.

I'd like to thank the Dallas Cowboys for providing the comedy for the evening.

Who's here? It's time for the Question 22 Reveal!

22. Name a team that MADE the 2022 playoffs, that will MISS them in 2023.

For this question, there were 30 correct answers, and 16 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

The incorrect answers were split between two teams.

THIRTEEN players played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they WEREN'T even the SHEEP! The Bucs were led by Baker Mayfield, back into the playoffs this year.

Three players played our other incorrect, the Miami Dolphins. Led by a brilliant receiving season from Tyreek, and a healthy season from Tua, they made the Wild Card game this year, where their season ended on Hoth in Kansas City.

There were NO unplayed correct answers for this question!

All the teams to drop out of the playoffs were selected by the participants.

...But with what split?
