I also saw that same meme but with FGCU Dunk City at the bottom. Which is also funny

(Enfield hired by USC
Musselman hired by USC
Calipari hired by Ark)

They should send Stevens a blank contract and let him fill in the number.

It's gonna have to be a ****ing enormous number. KY seems quite a step down from what he has right now.

I hear former UK Assistant Coach Kenny Payne is available if they want to bring him home.

I think Cal is as much done with UK as they are with him.

Looks like the line is trending towards -7

On one hand I feel like 7 is too high.

On the other hand, UConn is ****ing dominant, and when is the last real upset we've had in a title game?

I imagine someone in his position might view a college coaching position as a peasant's job, but I'd call and make him say no. Didn't he reportedly turn down Indiana for $70m/7? That's ominous and he's probably the most likely person to say no but he has to be the first call for any school willing to pay a basketball coach $10M+.

They gonna make this Armani suit wearin' mfer call the hogs?

Based on proxy lines between Purdue Illinois and UConn 6.5 looks correct and I think it closes at that and that 7.5 is good value which looks like can be gotten on betmgm right now.

In my lifetime of watching college basketball, I think EDEY is the best player I've seen. ZION is up there, Beasley was awesome, Blake Griffin was awesome. But Edey tops them all I think.

by Zimmer4141 k

KD and Zion are still the two best individual talents in college, but they didn't stay long enough to accomplish anything.

for those i got to watch, i'll list Hakeem Olajuwon, Danny Manning, Patrick Ewing, Jordan, and Shaq

Calipari couldn't wait just one more day for the offseason. Guy is such an attention whore.

Kind of funny that with all the transfers and chaos and march madness, both the men's and women's tourneys will end with the #1 team playing the #2 team

by Zimmer4141 k

I'm fascinated to see this matchup tomorrow night.

I'm not sure that either UConn or Purdue have played an opponent (maybe UConn vs. Creighton and Kalkbrenner) who are comfortable playing the big man one on one when he touches the ball and not laughing at how easy it will be.

I feel like the normal rhythms of these offenses might be thrown off for a bit. I trust Edey to score better than Clingan with back to the basket touches, but I don't think Edey will just be an auto bucket/foul if he gets a g

Hunter Dickinson and Bacot both held Clingan to 8 points on 7 shots with < 8 rebounds

I assume Ballo spent some time on Edey 1-1

I see that Wisconin's center is 7' 250, though I didn't watch those games. Kel'el Ware from Indiana is 7' 245, and they played both UConn and Purdue

Clingan doesn't need to dominate Edey though, just contain him, prevent him from getting every rebound or dominating 1-1 so that UConn doesn't have to help off 3 point shooters, and then Uconn's other players should shred Purdue. Samson Johnson should be able to give some quality minutes too

qft

the title game is the second biggest cbb story of the day

exactly. contain Edey. don't needlessly put him on the FT line over and over again. he gets 32% of his pts from the FT line. stay out of foul trouble and give up the 2 pt FG without fouling when he has you beat

i was really impressed w many of these women's teams who didn't hack the big centers that some of these dominant teams have. i'm beat....i'm not going to compound the situation by giving up an and-one

With Edey, it's not just guarding him for Clingan. It's stopping the different ball screen actions with Edey/Braden Smith then having to wrestle with Edey in the post after that and of course trying to front him then leads to Edey in great rebounding position.

It's just going to depend on how the game is called. Would be the least shocking thing ever for one of them to pick up two fouls in the first two minutes because NCAA stripes have a special talent for ruining big games and marquee matchups.

Looks like it won't be Oats at Kentucky

This is more surreal than a solar eclipse:

Rough start for the under so far.

Purdue with some rough defensive whiffs early, UConn is gonna keep forcing Edey to make a choice to help off or stick on Clingan

Clingan looked ****ing exhausted

by pwnsall k

Clingan looked ****ing exhausted

The deep breath sigh as he was hitting the bench said everything.

Diarra did that Braden Smith shot to the veins thing after he knocked down that 3

wonder if Smith saw that

by pwnsall k

Clingan looked ****ing exhausted

He's never had to face a guy like EDEY and it's showing early. I think UConn thought they could just single cover EDEY like Purdue wouldn't go to him every single possession.

Givony moved Clingan up to #3 projected based on hopium I guess. This guy gonna get cooked in the League. I think the bigger question is will he ever see an NBA court? Might be a nice player for the Motor City Cruise.
