NBA 2024-25 Season Thread
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Never cross the STOTTS
the bucks kept losing in the playoffs because they were suffering key injuries at the worst time, and maybe were too thin overall. think middleton got hurt in 2 different seasons, and last year it was giannis.
(also bad luck drawing the heat as an 8 seed)
i'm not seeing much of a decline in jrue tbh. there's a slight gradual one, but the best 3 years of his career have been his 3 years in milwaukee. dame is an upgrade offensively, but a horrible defender. is that what they need? yeah, very possi
wow the defense has taken a major step back huh? crazy. nobody saw it coming etc
better fire the coach!
Dame + Beasly is WOAT level defensive backcourt. Middleton is cooked. Portis has been terrible this year. Fire the coach!
Bucks need to trade for a guard like Jrue. Need a solid perimeter defender.
Bucks are reportedly interested in JVG.
I think he’d be a great fit.
jvg hasn't coached since 2007 ... no one is interested in hiring him
edit: well, no one good. i could see a lol team doing it as a stunt or something
Yeah jvg would be a disaster. He was successful in a different era. Strategically the game has advanced a ton and he wouldn’t command much respect due to charisma as nobody knows laying today prob even knows who he is
I love how the Bucks fired a guy with a 2nd round ceiling to replace him with a guy with a 2nd round ceiling.
Doc should just take a powder for a year and take his pick of whatever jobs are out there over the summer. Stepping into a bear trap here. Everyone seems to love him around the league though, he’ll probably get chances even if they stink.
Draft King ROY odds
Wembanyama -120
Holmgren -105

This was still the best job that would be available tho: It's Giannis
It's a top 3 or 4 job (atm) and he's not getting Embiid again nor is Malone going anywhere
lol Hornets
Hey now

Counterpoint, Bucks have legitimate title equity and if he pulls it off this season he’s a legend.
I think Chet is the pick here....His bulk stats aren't that much worse and his efficiency stats are much better on a team that is going to win high 40s/low 50s for games. I know Wemby has the hype factor and all that, but his team is going to win < 20 games, they're one of the worst teams in the league.
You never really get ROY contests like this, but I think the voters will go with the guy that had to actually play real basketball and contribute to a contender rather than chuck for a glorified G League team for 6 months.

Really?
Can't imagine Doc could land in a better spot than this. C'mon, the Bucks are still 1 of the best teams in the NBA.
