They could have signed him in free agency

Sure, and all that takes is:

-Renounce Buddy
-Renounce Obi
-Waive TJM
-Decline Brown

And still not be able to offer a bird-rights max extention.

They could do that, if they want him to sign with Philly.

RJ sucks dude. Just give it time. The most empty 20ppg in history.

The only positive I got out of the Siakam (on the Rap's side of things, as it is CLEARLY thrilling coming from the Pacer's perspective), is that outside of taking a retool direction for the team, Masai has 3 weeks of wiggle room to try to get an asset that fits better the timeline of Barnes-RJ-Quickley... Could Brown and picks return a promising under 25 player? I doubt it, but let's see...

Last thoughts on the OG and Siakam trades : happy for both, as they went to teams that will fully take advantage of their strengths, but darn, it still remains quite a surprise how much the Raps got (MUCH) more from the inferior player in OG, despite both of them becoming unrestricted free agents this summer (and both seemingly accepting, wink-wink, to re-sign with their teams).

Brown is actually really flexible here. He's got a larger-than-it-should be deal with a team option for next year. Trade it this year or keep him and use him for salary as an expiring next year.

kind of impossible to believe at this point that masai has any kind of masterplan going on. seems like he's clearly just flailing around in that hopes that he can luckbox some magic, like when their 1 & done experiment with kiwi worked out perfectly. they even got lucky moving up in the lottery to get barnes (granted they nailed that pick, kudos) and they're still just a random ~.500 team in a league where like half the teans are actively tanking

He's been in the league 4 years in 2 playoffs and is still 23 this season hes ball dominant guy playing next to Randle and brunson... he'll be given more opportunity on raps and then can evaluate him properly.

The return for OG wasn't "that" great. No 1st rounder. Knicks weren't going to keep IQ and everyone knew it. Another team would've offered too big of a deal and/or a poison pill contract that the Knicks wouldn't be able to match.

RJ was not really regarded much around the league. If anything he was a net neutral with his contract if you factor in future development. RJ had the most value to the Raptors than any other team as he's homegrown Canadian.

6/30 teams tanking is actually 20%, not 50% - Cha, Was, Det, Por, SA and Mem that now has to tank, find me a 7th team...

I concede that both NY and Indiana did not have to give up much in the deal, albeit on the TO side of things - AKA the "return" for OG -, was actually tremendous. If you actually flip the perspective around, TO did not give up much either, as OG was playing at 80% of capacity and did not plan on re-signing with the Raps and Siakam had stopped putting efforts defensively and the relationship with TO had gone south.

Numerous teams wanted OG. They didn't get a "great" return for him with all the interest there was in him. Don't make me explain 9/5 odds to you again.

teams might have wanted og, but i don't think anyone was offering anything. seemed like he was on the market for 2-3 years, and thats what they got, so ... his value was not much

Pacers wanted him. That's a #FACT

This IND/SAC ending has been insane. Pacers up by 13 with 2:40 left. Down to a 3pt lead with 5 seconds left.

Pacers missing 5 players but still

Oof, these KANGZ are not alright

TJ McConnell man, he's such a gym rat. 20 pts 10 asst on 9/14 fg like it was NOTHING. He may not be able to jump high but dude can BALL.
He was like Woody Harrelson from the early 90s out there tonight.

Again : I am sharing with you TO's perspective ; you might disagree with it and think that we did not get a great return, but it matters little what you think, as far as the sentiment north of the border is concerned...

McConnell in Indy must feel like he's the Jeter of NYC.

Pacers losing is BEYOND me. WTF burger.

Embiid is listed at 280lbs. But I swear he's gotta be at least 3 bills. Dude is MASSIVE.

The Hornets beat the Wembyless Spurs by 4 by having the starting 5 score 112 of 124 points. The Hornets shot 47/84, 16/29, 14/16 and the Spurs shot 47/84, 15/32, 11/17. Defense is unserious.

Where would Steph Curry land if he were to demand a trade?

His salary of 51M kinda limits his options where he can reasonably go.

Other than Lakers for 10% of his value, most realistic is a deal fleshed out around Steph for Jaylen Brown in the offseason.

Pacers losing is BEYOND me. WTF burger.

Pacers starters: 101

Pacers Bench: 14

The bench played the entire game vs SAC because they were missing 5 players. The Pacers currently lead the NBA in bench scoring at 49/gm. 2nd place is 45. They were exhausted

That said, here's the nut:

Haliburton-Hield-Nesmith-Siakam-Turner

Off Rtg 148.8

Def rtg 95.5

Net rtg 53.4

I dont care if it's only been 19 minutes so far. Inject it straight into my veins.
