2024 NFL Off-season Thread
:(
Eagles probably expect punishment along the lines of what the Chiefs got a couple years ago which was a 3rd and 6th rounder?
Most reporting I've read says that Atlanta is looking at a more significant penalty but I can't see the NFL docking them a first rounder like they did with Miami for multiple violations around Brady and Sean Peyton over multiple seasons. So maybe a 2nd rounder, depending on what exactly happened with Darnell Mooney?
from a recent ESPN article, I think we need to brace ourselves for an incoming Trevor contract extension. they are predicting more $$ than Goff but less than Burrow
Miami better sign Tua tomorrow then.
JJ gets that $$
4 year 140MM with 110MM gtd
Highest non-QB in history
Well deserved. That should at least be the top of the market.
RIP Larry Allen. 52. Ugh.
of all the things Larry achieved, IMO the most memorable is how everyone who played him would refer to him as the toughest, scariest dude they came across.
Like...an NFL locker room is full of the baddest, scariest, toughest, strongest dudes you'd ever meet - the alphas in their schools and their college teams etc and people that no one would dream of ****ing with in real life. And universally they looked at Larry as THE dude.
probably about where we all thought it would come in but still huge $$.
He'll only be 29 at the end of the deal too so should get to re-up again at age 27 or 28 when he's still in his prime so he's poised to earn giant $$ if he keeps up his pace
it'll be interesting to see where the Chase and Lamb deals come in now. They're a year further away from FA and can't justifiably argue they're better than JJ so I can't see them beating his money but you'd think they'll be close to this amount
Cowboys really do have some challenges given the upcoming Lamb and Parsons deals, plus what to do with Dak. It wouldn't surprise me if they think about trading one of these two tbh - paying an LB and WR in the region of $70m per doesn't help re-signing a QB for $55-60m. IDK, maybe they just let Dak walk, but I can't see that happening either

I don't think it'll be enough, but I do think it's impressive that Chase only has 1 less TD than JJ in 15 fewer games played.
CMC gets extended by 9ers for an additional 2 years
Details not released yet. The PR says the average becomes $19m per year but realistically, it seems like he gets $4m extra per year for 24 & 25, taking him to $15.8m and $16m for those two seasons and they become guaranteed and then there'll be 2 balloon years for 2026 and 27 that he's very unlikely to see
still...good for him to get some more $$ and he deserves it after what he's done there. He's the most important skill position guy on the 9ers
CMC has been one of my favorite players since his stanford days
happy to see him get paid
FWIW, spotrac shows a $25mil cap hit in 2027 and a $15mil cap hit in the void 2028 season for CMC.
mickey in shambles. Though I do enjoy 'guarantee', 'might', 'for sure'
How high was Stroud?
high on life
Man if Mickey didn’t hate black people enough already
It is very sad that you think like this - both that you think I am racist and that when you hear one football player talk about 2 other football players that there must be people out there that now hate all black people because of what one black man said. It may be a good idea for you to talk to someone you trust or a professional if you think people start hating other races because of what someone from that race says about football. Your line of thinking is not normal or logically.
All-inMcLovin to the rescue!

I saw the thread post, then figured to check reported posts subforum --> saw the reported post, and have reached out to SRM personally.
Such statements (even if it is meant as a joke, it was entirely in bad form and it crossed a line) cannot be condoned.
Thanks a lot CJ.
