lions missing playoffs will only happen due to mass injury or death

Both are possible if they bite off kneecaps too big to chew and swallow.

They’re the Lions.

dont' forget about good teams that sucked last year not sucking again this year, or bad teams getting better.

haven't forgotten, i believe the loins to be legit

Who are the NFC teams that can realistically get there? In terms of bad teams getting better it'd be Falcons, who would just replace the Bucs, and if Caleb is good than da Bears.

Gun to my head the nfc playoff teams (in no particular seed order) are as follows:

9ers
Packers
Bears
Falcons
Eagles
Cowboys

Zero confidence required 7 seed:
…..[strike]skol?[/strike] bucs

Caleb basically has to be the worst bust in nfl history for the bears to not be a playoff team

Last time I checked, the Falcons are a - betting number to make the playoffs

Why?

They’re in a division with two teams with far better rosters

Bears roster is really really really ****ing good. Not ‘win a super bowl’ good but definitely ‘mid ass team turns competitive’ good

Even ignoring their defense their offense is so loaded that it’s inexplicable for an nfl qb to not be good enough to get 11+ wins of that alone even if they’re womp

Bears were like 20 something in Defensive DVOA last year, no?

Edit: just checked. 17th

Lions are gonna ROAR their way to the Superb Owl.

Didn't their defense improve quite a bit over the last 6-8 games?

I did see the Bears and Jets played against 7 common opponents, and the Bears only allowed around .5 point more per game.

Could be Jets fan say thier D is good, but really its just in thier mind. Blaming Milfhunter, the amount of snaps. Etc.. Sorry for the confusion. profootballnetwork.com has them coming in as 2024 best D. Is that even a real site? Did McLovin set that up?

regarding the NFCS, i'd prob back NO to win

Aaron Schatz recently said ATL will have one of (if not the) worst defenses this season

Wirfs gets 5 year 140MM / 88MM gtd

Can the 9ers afford to give Trent that kind of money and also pay Aiyuk?

how could any FO give Williams that kind of money?

Williams is 36

Wirfs is 25

oh dang i didn't realize. yeah i agree with you

He’ll be asking for an extension to get him to 30m per and prolly 3 years of guaranteed money though

Just realized I forgot the lions exist in this scenario. Incredibly rude of me and apologies to all

9ers
Packers
Lions
Falcons
Eagles
Cowboys
Bears?

by newguyhere k

Playoff teams that will miss this season

AFC - Definitely Steelers and possibly Buffalo and/or Cleveland

NFC - Definitely Bucs and possibly Detroit and/or Rams

Dunno what's available but I'd bet you could get pretty juicy odds if you wanted to bet against the Lions making the playoffs. Bills too.

This is always true.

The culture in Detroit is entirely different. Dan Campbell runs a tight ship AND they retained their guru Offensive Coordinator.

Throw shade all you want now because the Lions are gonna run all up and down the NFL this year!

Counterpoint: Can't have **** in Detroit
