2024 F1 Season.

2024 F1 Season.

Seeing as no one has started a new thread yet I thought I would.

Will Max win everything again?

Has Lewis made the right decision to switch?

When will Horner get sacked?

Is 24 races far too many?

Predictions for the season?

Mine is Perez will get replaced mid way through the season and Lando will actually finally win a race

there's no debate on fault... there's no arguable position that is credible...

In a race situation, IT IS the follow car's responsibility and it always has been, and it always will be.

this isn't like qualifying where there are cars on track with vast differing closing speeds... or a position where one driver is short braking/brake checking to get the following driver in trouble. If you get into an accident on road and if you are the car behind/following, you are at fault.

Some driver are overly pr

We think Stroll is ahead of Yuki for mistakes?

Tbh there haven’t been as many ‘Tsunodas’ in the last year or so

Condition of the track would come into play - probably left with very little use over Covid and the Chinese shut downs.

Looks like a good portion of that new HP sponsorship is going to Newey

by medgar k

Talks are about him going to Ferrari. If that is the case Lewis must be thinking all his Christmases have come at once

If RB loses Newey, This is a massive ball fumble! You have the GOAT engineer/designer/High IQ aero guy. You do everything in your power to never lose a talent like this.

Only way to lose him is with old age or retirement. Where is he doesn’t go to one of your competitors.

Is a lone 65 years old really the sole reason for developing such a fast car?

Don't they have staff of hundreds of people who combine their efforts in designing, developing, testing, etc.. ?

Naively asking as I don't know the guy but I am quite skeptical that performance is so tied to one person and not an organization.

In a sport that the difference is hundredth of a second, his brain is worth it imo.

supposedly he is the real deal. people say he has some sort of savant-like insight into air flow

as you say he has a huge team designing the widgets, but he sets the overall design concept each time a bunch of new regulations comes out, and has basically never missed in 35 years

he was the lead designer on the early 90s williams (4 titles), late 90s/early 2000s mclaren (2 titles) and all the red bulls (7 and counting). his cars were also one of the main competitors to ferrari in the 2000s and mercedes in the 2010s, both of which had insurmountable horsepower advantages over the field

At this point, I don’t see any evidence that Lewis can out drive LeClerc

Yep. At this time Lewis is a dog versus Leclerc

People are getting overly excited about the Newey news. If RedBull refuses to release him then the earliest he can join Ferrari or Aston Martin is 2027. Then it takes at least a year to make a big impact on the design of the car. Hamilton is not going to stay around that long and won't be able to beat Leclerc at that age. Same for Alonso although he doesn't need help to beat Stroll.

I'm not sure I'm favoring Lewis over Sainz either.

I can really see him going to Aston

Confirmed gone at the end of this season.

RedBull released him from his contract which is surprising. Lots of speculation on why they would do this ranging from Newey threatening to release dirt on Horner to RedBull not wanting to screw over the person that gave them so many successes. Means he is moving to another team otherwise no point in asking for a release and that team is most likely Ferrari.

Don’t look now but we’ve finally got an actual race

Awesome race so far

Lando was only up 11.5 seconds on Max and 14.5 on Leclerc when the yellow flew, but somehow increased the gap to 30 by the time he actually pitted under the Safety Car. If he had actually been picked up properly by the SC, then he might've come out 3rd and for sure should have been behind Max after pitting. I'm glad he won, but that's odd.

It seems the SC actually missed Lando and picked up Max, but if it's unable to pick up the leader in time, shouldn't it wait until the next time around? That seems extremely unfair and I'd think Red Bull would have a complaint. What if the top 10 cars are separated by only 15 seconds, but the SC doesn't pick up the leader and then inflates his lead to 20 seconds on the entire field and gives him a free pit stop?

What am amazing first three laps.. good on ALL drivers for proving they are the best.

We should change the rules so Max and Red Bull wins every race
