Tejas repeat. Minimum 8-peat, too
Zack Wheeler 3 years $156M extension
If he continues to eat innings at his prodigious strikeout rate, he’s worth it
Oops, you’re right, it’s 3/$126M
The warm and sunny got replaced by cold and wet, but it's baseball. A World Series rematch!
Came close to pulling the trigger on a spring training trip this year and this was one of the games I had circled. Definitely going to try to make it happen next year. Hope you had fun!
Great picks ec!
Nothing to do with ST and people betting on the Phillies seems wrong, but I took this last night on the way back to Philly Live!.... Let's go
Yankees Cole shut down...
It's a Metropolitans town now anyway.
Saw a great bio of Satchel Paige tonight. Priceless. His windup looked kind of like a giraffe in slow motion, and with two or three stops here and there different on different pitches, and sometimes a double or triple windup to boot, with a whirlybird "bolo punch" type motion thrown in. When the catcher put down one finger, that was the fastball. When he put down two, that was the "trouble pitch." When he put down three, that was the "midnight rider."
His first year in the majors at 40 or 50 years old, give or take, he went 6-1 for the Indians who won the World Series. He pitched in one game in the series, late inning relief when way behind. One wonders if this being the year after Jackie Robinson if they refused to start a black pitcher in the Series. Teammate Feller said he was a stud. There's pictures of him chatting up the ladies sitting by the dugout between innings, them eating it up like he's Elvis.
Too good. He barnstormed against various teams including the Yankees in the off season, striking out guys right and left, once with DiMaggio taking him yard for the walk-off win. Oh, Satchel. In an interview he said he had been pitching for 7 decades and figured he had "about 15 or 20 mo years." What a legend!
Had my first fantasy draft of the year…. A one year auction.
$260 starting budget, Acuña’s ESPN-recommended value is $46. In a league full of other Braves fans, I got him for a steal at $79.
Don’t even care who else is on my team, this’ll be a fun season!

If you put a cactus league trip together and don't reach out to me I'll be pretty offended.
