2024 NFL Draft Thread
If this feels like déjà vu, that's because it is. For the second season in a row, the Panthers have the #1 overall pick. It's not often that SE members have the opportunity to start consecutive NFL draft threads as the honorary member whose team has the #1 overall pick.
Oh, ****. You mean we earned the #1 overall pick and don't actually have it?
What? You're saying we traded the #1 overall pick this year for the #1 overall pick last year plus gave up DJM, 1.09, 2.31 and a 2nd round pick next season? Well, surely that means we must have picked someone really good last year.
What's that? Between the last two draft classes, it's possible our guy is the 7th best QB taken in the first round? No ****ing way.
Well, at least we hired some new coaches again. I'm sure it'll work out better this time.
Time for the 10 burning questions of the first round.
1. Will the Bears find a way to fumble the bag, anyways? What will Caleb Williams be wearing and will his nail polish match his outfit?
2. Will NE select a QB, trade back, or take a generational WR with no one to throw the ball to him?
3. Will No.1 Chargers avoid taking a WR hoping that Justin Herbert can both throw and catch the ball?
4. Is Sean Payton actively tanking the Broncos organization even further or will he reach for a QB?
5. Will the Bills take another top 100 pass catcher in the first round or will they expect perennial MVP candidate Jawsh to do it all like Kermit?
6. Will Miami draft the fastest guy in combine history?
7. Will the Panthers wait until 33 to **** it up again or will they try to make another bad trade up?
8. Will the Jets do anything to protect their 40 year old conspiracy theorist politician?
9. Will the Cowboys do anything to improve their team or has Jerry simply stopped caring at this point?
10. What will the 49ers do now that they've finally paid off the Trey Lance trade?
Tune in Thursday at 8 pm eastern to find out.
Whew. Things are back in balance.
LOL Football Team.
great pick for DAL
The player. Moving into the first is whatever, I guess. They are trying to add a 5yo option edge by giving up 60 spots of value. I'd still have preferred to just save that value, even in the later rounds, and take the dude at 33, especially for a team that needs a lot, but I can at least understand the theory.
I think Legette is a terrible prospect. Without the extra COVID year, the guy would have finished his college career with 42 catches, 423 yards and 5 TDs over 41 games played. He pro
This is better business
Wtf Carolina?? You don't have to make a trade every pick.
Past today no picks get the benefit of an automatic roster spot.
Got a wideout, never heard of him. But 210 and only 5'11. So he is a big guy that can run and shove his way I open. I like it. But no 40 time. He wasn't trying to run that I guess. Guess will just see how that plays out. malachi corley
we might see CIN make a small trade up from #80 (say to #76 w DEN) if one of these WRs is still on the board at #76
Wilson
Franklin
Rice
oh my God Broncos dude shut up and read the pick. goddamn clown
why is Roman Wilson falling so far?
Burton is a sick add.
high ceilings/low floors the story of CIN's draft thus far (Jenkins notwithstanding)
I'd really like the Steelers to draft Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Either here or wait 15 more picks.
Trifecta!
They should announce picks in reverse order to create some extra drama and so that Chiefs fans don't always have to wait so long.
Mccafree brother gets a shot with washington. Receiver 6'2 , 4.46 40yrd time.
His pops was 6'5 , 4.69 40 yrd time.
Both 3rd round picks
nfl site says he is good for slot, and is a "culture pick" regarded as future coach.
ok.. whatever that means, see if he can play
I'd imagine he has been catching footballs since he started to walk, and it was daily until he moved out. So hands should not be an issue.
Dad went out and bought a juggs machine soon as he heard he was having a boy.
Local youth football coach was heard mumbling "oh for christ's sake" when the mccaffreys pulled up
‘culture pick’ = white guy
Colts GM Chris Ballard on the Adonai Mitchell situation:
"I read some of the bulls--- that was said," Ballard said. "Excuse my language. Our typical league -- unnamed sources, bad interviews. That's such bulls---. I mean, it f---ing is. It's bulls---. Put your name on it. I'm tired of it. We tear these young men down.
Also, Colts traded down from 45 to 52 to pick him.
Love it.
Miami gets another speedy back. Zoom! Zoom!
Have they shown pictures of Spencer Rattler's watch party today?
Probably the first time with 100+ picks between QBs..
