NCAA Baseball Tourney
UK shared the SEC regular season title, then as the #2 overall seed in the NCAA tournament was the 5th lowest price in their own conference to win the College World Series. They were damn near the overall 1-seed yet the 5th pick to win it from their own conference.
They survived the region at their home park and I guess the super regions are announced on Monday or Tuesday?
This UNC- WVU game is awesome. Sounds like the entire state of WV took over Chapel Hill. Since my Hogs can’t ever get it done, WVU is my adopted team this year.
Honeycutt is a boss
arguably UNC's best field position player ever
UK is one win from first ever Omaha appearance. Won 10-0 today, that's two shutouts in a row for suspect pitching staff after only I think one all year versus upper echelon teams. I went for one inning today, and UK scored 7 in the 7th, blowing it open. Not sure if they ever got one win away before, two away a few years ago.
the first pitch of game #2 deposited over the LF wall by Honeycutt
for his next AB, Honeycutt suprises w a bunt (and his ELITE speed) and reaches base for a single (later scoring the winning run in a 2-1 game)
later in the game, doubles up a Mountaineer at first base after a line drive out to CF w a rope of an assist
still later, runs down a certain leadoff double (or triple) in the gap for the first out in the 8th
Honeycutt is a serious weapon for the Heels heading into Omaha
Clemson - Florida is nuts.
UK pitching staff just got I think a 26 1/3 inning scoreless streak snapped in the 4th versus Oregon State to tie it at 2-2 ... in the push to get to the CWS first time ever, now one win away. Pretty dramatic. Been worrying when the streak stopped it will stop heavy with a ton of runs. Going over to check it out.
This play at 13:35 is a must see. Extra innings, bottom of the 10th, if this ball gets down then Clemson loses the series and Florida goes to Omaha. For me, one of the greatest plays I've ever seen. Sadly, Clemson would eventually lose, so it was all for naught.

Heck of a game. I went in the 7th inning of game 1, and UK put up 7 runs to ice it. Went in the 7th tonight and they scored the tie breaker in the 7th to go up 3-2, and it held up. Gonna have to put the pen to it.

I couldn’t believe it when it happened live. Given the circumstances that has to be the best or one of the best catches in college baseball history.
So depending on UGA/NC State it's either 5 SEC/3 ACC or an even 4/4 split. What's the most teams ever in the CWS from just 2 conferences? I'm guessing 6.
that was a brutal choke job by FSU

Thanks man, gonna need a lot of it! GL to your club as well.
Gators got robbed of a go ahead HR in the 9th, so at least there's one bright spot.
ACC also guaranteed to get another win today. Seems they can only beat other ACC teams.
A&M must be a lock. I got shut out. Got home at 7:01 after getting stuck at the mailbox for a couple minutes. Meh. Thought they'd have an in game line or not scratch it before it actually started.
ACC still 0-fer against SEC.
State ****ed up so many innings playing small ball down 1. Not only could they not manufacture the run, they also eliminated the possibility of big innings to take the lead.
UNC has a guy hitting .195 and not only is he the starting DH, he's also batting 7th? Wut?
Well, he grounded into a DP in his first AB in a pretty big spot.
Anyway, FSU's starting pitcher sucks and is injured, but has somehow survived 2 innings. They'll touch him up soon though.
FSU wins the right to get walloped by the Vols.
Sucks the umps blew the checked swing call late vs. the Vols b/c this FSU team is good enough to ship. I guess you never know with an offense this good, but the bullpen was already terrible coming in and now have very few arms even left.
