It's looking increasingly plausible that NY - LV will be a second round matchup. NY has a hammer lock on the 1 seed, and LV is currently in 5th, 3 games behind Conn and 2.5 games behind Minn and a half game behind Seattle

1-0 vs Conn with home and away left
2-1 vs Seattle with one road game left

They're still heavily favored to pass Seattle, but jumping Conn is probably easier than jumping Minn since they have two H2H games left

With PHX losing last night, Indiana is pretty live to move up from the 7 line to the 6, although tbh given Vegas losing I'd probably rather face the 2 the 3

Phx is 15-14 and I project them with 5.8 more wins
Ind is 13-15 and I project them with 6.8 more wins, and IND swept the season series 3-0 which I assume is the tiebreak

Atlanta is also closing in on Chicago for the 8 seed. Chicago's 1-2 since the Olympic break while ATL is 3-0 with (all home) wins over Conn, Seattle and PHX

Chicago has been playing like ****. last game angel and chenn both played good, and Chicago was still never in the game. really bad sign.

before the break(and the trade) they were looking really good as a team, now they don't.

Chicago has a tough schedule too. they're really gonna need some big improvement, which is possible. maybe it'll take some time for the post trade team to come together.

I'd sell hard on Chicago, this year and the future. Reese has broken mechanics that won't change and if they continue to run offense where she shoots 10+ they won't be more than a 7-10 seed team. They don't own their first round in 25 or 26, so they can't get Paige, Kiki won't fit with what they have(if they lucksack 2nd overall) and then next year they'll probably draft like 10th. Free agency mega-haul or a miracle mechanic improvement from Reese, or historic jump by Cardoso or grim times.

MN's big problem is the expansion draft will be 4 Lynx players, they are the deepest team with a fairly flat talent pool after Phee, but Golden State will get to steal multiple strong role players from them and they could drop back to the middle of the pack next year. I think they have a good title shot this year, they play very good on both sides of the ball, and it's a full team effort they don't auto lose if Phee is having a rough day like LV does if A'ja isn't twice as good as everyone else on the court. NY has a much higher top end and they gives and edge in playoff rotations but if Jones gets in foul trouble they swing to a big dog h2h vs MN

Reese is obv a great rebounder, and a great defender. her shooting... not so much. but seems like it's not impossible to improve. and chennedy Carter is a great scorer, if she can keep her head on straight.

Chicago has some tools. and they are a young team. cardoso and Reese, both rookies, could easily wind up being the best two bigs on any team in the league.

Rudy Gobert is absolute trash outside of dunk range, the difference is he's a giant and just dunks a bunch. Reese shoots flat footed from the hip.

It's not a simple fix, it's been broken forever. It's why she went 7th. Cardoso is still super raw but much more potential and the 4" helps a bunch.

Reese has a lot of potential as a Rodman type player, her rebounding instincts are the best in the league, and she's absolutely tenacious. She can be part of a title team, but she's more elite role player than star piece of the puzzle.

She's a marketing genius getting her named locked in with Clark, who is going to win 2+ MVPs and is a generational talent. Reese will make millions more than the non-Clark players in the league.

yeah always, Vegas loves Vegas though but they look like a team about to self-destruct. They have wins against bad teams since Gray is back but have been beaten off the court mostly by the top ones.

MN outside of the games with Phee injured, which sadly had a NY and Conn game in there have been the clear #2 team in the league and the only team close to NY.

I think it's very likely it's NY vs MN and that will be a slugfest of a series. And then Golden State drafts 4 Lynx players and they fall back down a couple notches next year.

My Aces really do look like s**t pre and post Olympic break. No passion, no hunger, no defense, thinking they can just show up and win any game now. A'ja Wilson is still great but the rest of the team s**nks.

It doesn't really matter how they are vs the bad teams, it's very unlikely they can move above the 4 seed after losing both to MN. So they have a playoff run of Seattle, NY, MN/Conn and they look like a dog vs all 4 of them

WNBA is short series, which is good for them, they'd be bigger dogs in a best of 7.
