WNBA 2024
angel reese is giving Caitlin Clark a run for rookie of the year
aja Wilson had 0 turnovers her last game... and iirc 41 points and 17 rebounds
75 to 1 seems decent. but you'd probably be better off just taking the money line on the fever, and letting it ride for the rest of the season. like an 8 game parlay
It's obviously incredibly unlikley, but it's not impossible the Fever could catch Vegas.
Fever have 6 of the 7 remaining games at home including two against Vegas
v LA
v Minn
v Atlanta
v Vegas
v Vegas
v Dallas
@ Washington
If they manage to win both against Vegas, that puts them at 19-16, and they're heavy favorites in 4 of the other 5 and in the neighborhood of a flip at home against Minn.
Let's call it 23-17
Vegas has:
v Chicago
@ Conn
@ NYL
@ Ind
@ Ind
v Conn
@ Seattle
v Dallas
and is 20-12. They'd be 20-14 after the two losses at Ind, and 22-14 after beating Chicago and Dallas at home. That means they'd have to go 1-3 against @ Conn, @ NYL, @ Seattle, v Conn to tie. That seems totally plausible?
Again, this is all assuming Ind sweeps both games against Vegas at home which is tough enough.
I think the odds of Ind matching or passing Vegas are in the ~1% range, but crazy to think it's even within the realm of possibility
Atlanta is favored over Chicago for the 8 now
Terrible timing on the Sky all getting sick
Dallas is quite a bit better than Chicago right now but their schedule remaining is brutal so they probably can't catch up, if Dallas wins the last matchup they'd be 2-2 on season not sure who wins the tiebreaker then.
Atlanta probably does pass Chicago, the disaster scenario is Dallas somehow finishing 8th, then Chicago would draft no higher than 6th in 25, and probably like 11th in 26(MN has a swap) and they'd have a very hard time getting the rebuild together.
Chicago would be expected to lose tonight, even if healthy. so being sick doesn't really hurt them that much tonight. it hurt them a lot the last 2 games though. both those games were winnable if they were healthy.
hopefully they'll be healthy next game after tonight, and I think a healthy Chicago, looking at both team's SOS, will beat the dream.
I didn't look at Dallas schedule.
Dallas fell apart today, should functionally eliminate them from the playoffs.
Where Satou goes next year will be interesting, Indy should easily have cap to max both her and Mitchell on 1 year deals and she's a great fit for them.

Huge night for Washington
beat Dallas H2H and probably eliminate them from the race (Wash also has tiebreak), and then Chi and ATL both lose, so gain a full game on them
Sun were close to being a huge favorite for the 2 again, then lost at home to Seattle (who is keeping HCA potential vs Vegas alive)
List of rookies with a triple-double in the WNBA:
-Caitlin Clark x2
*End of list*
Her shot is coming around too, when teams get 1st overall b2b the core wins titles, it's happened 3 times already. They don't **** up in the offseason and they are a top 2 team next year, Clark is going to average something silly like 25/11 and win her first MVP.
Last 20 games
21.1 PPG
6.4 RPG
10.1 APG
14-6 record
A'ja is having a legendary season or she might have won it this year if they finished 23-17. I'd be shocked if she was below 3rd and could sneak past Phee with a strong finish.
you think boston can still develop into a great player?
kind of feels like she is what she is, a good inside presence that'll start on most teams but not someone you can build around

seems like clark can make you into a great player.
if she was a great player on her own, then teaming her up with Clark would yield absurd results
😮
Clark wins eastern conference player of the month. The eastern conference is comprised of six teams.
The split between Seattle’s starters and Seattle’s bench

None of these stats means anything. We need an update on the turnover record because it’s clearly a factor for the team’s inability to win games! Oh wait they’re 14-6 in their last 20.
Six games left. She’s 12 turnovers away from Mrs. 200
and you can add ~3 rebounds a game to angel's avg, if you factor in she plays 40 minute games to shaq's 48 minute games

Canada/toronto was founded on genocide. seems like the name should reflect that in some way
😆
Clark pretty undeniably first team all-W at this point
