has obvious issues with sample size and rotations as mentioned earlier - but it's still very impressive

to clarify off rating and d rating are 100*points/possession

so basically when she's on the court they score 102 points every 100 posessions and give up 99 points
when she's off court they score 91 points and give up 114

that's pretty insane - but would definitely like to see if it holds up over a larger sample

Yeah, the biggest thing that stands out over that (admittedly limited) data set is that the efficiency numbers are nearly identical for everything except Opp 3p%. AR is a PF isn't she or at least, she plays down low most of the time. Would he being on the court really explain their opponents getting 7% better from 3?

Just her ability to hoover up rebounds probably explains a lot of the rest tho. Keeping possession and not allowing the other guys to have additional possessions will explain a lot of her positive effect.

fever are a near lock to make the playoffs have a .423 record vs .325 last year

there are 10 days left before the trade deadline and there's a few teams who are just terrible and have collapsed and were pretty decent winning or just sub .500 teams last year so there's probably some decent veterans on those carcasses that can be picked which could help the fever

first time following wnba - no idea if there's much movement at the deadline, but would love to see them make some moves but looks unlikely

wnba has a 1.4 million salary cap, which means no teams are ever in a position to salary dump - even if they were, fever are only 66k under the cap

so they'd have to trade away picks to get those players and while i still think they should build around cc via free agency and not the draft - they'll probably want to hold onto those picks in hopes of striking gold and trying to build a dynasty around boston/clark but boston doesn't seem to be getting better, despite now having an elite provider most of her stats are slightly down or the same as her rookie year across the board

meanwhile cc is actually no putting up very efficient shooting numbers only going 40.5/32.7/89.1 whereas she was a 46.2/37.7/85.8 in college - i think once she gets some help and teams can't double team as frequently or she won't be forced to take bad shots as often those will get better

if I was the fever, i'd be selling. CC is just getting better and better. and players are gonna want to come and play with her. her team right now is mid. but they're in a spot to build a team that could win championship after championship

no reason to sellout the future to try to win a championship this year

that's also a good idea, they will be unlikely to challenge the lv/ny super teams anyway and clearing up cap space to land some big free agents could be the route for the long term

however, as a holder of cc mvp futures, i hope they go for it all this year
