Spain is losing this final
Is it too early to say it yet?
this guy gets it
dudes are trotting out morata up front and a 38 year old jesus navas at right back while we have the best player from each of the top 3 leagues but spain pop off as favourites because of momentum and southgate or something
ps its coming home
why did the Dutch guy get a yellow after the winning goal?
I've raced home from work last 2 days to watch soccer. Gotta be a first for me. I'm enjoying this tournament.
I'm gonna skip golf this weekend to watch the final. Go England (I used to live there)
I'm going to a gig on Sunday night with The Lightning Seeds on the bill. If England win, peak moment ever to sing '3 Lions'.

Morata might be injured and Navas won't be playing...
Kane will start because the players want him to, simple as that.
It could be wise to not rely on your hurt striker, i have nothing against kane i just really appreciate Watkins.
Although kane is only 2.5 years older than him, from seeing them play i would estimate that quite a bit higher
Yes everyone agrees he is hurt and shouldnt be starting. It was your claim that he's only good from the penalty spot these days that was laughable.

When he's injured like this he doesnt bring much to the squad unlike a more mobile player does. Only good from the penalty spot was an exaggeration, its quite a normal figure of speech when talking about football. At least, for me it is.
I’m more than happy with Kane starting and a fresh Watkins coming on to exploit tired defenders.
That penalty was so unspeakably bad, lol. It can literally only ever be given with VAR (aka AIDS) involvement. How else could you give advantage play first, and then a peno, when the advantage is not converted successfully?
Although admittedly, the thought of Kane's original shot going in, Zwayer "reviewing" it and then giving a peno instead, is hilarious.

Did the ref signal advantage? I totally missed that if so.
Exactly.
This is what makes the peno ridiculous. Like I said, it can only ever be given with VAR-involvement. In normal football, if the ref spots the foul, he'll recognize that Kane was able to make his shot and only then was fouled. He'd then book Dumfries, as he should, and decide on goal kick.
But thank **** AIDS-football now has VAR, so we no longer have to worry about stupid ref decisions. 🙄
I think some consideration should be given to the fact that Kane got the chance off anyway, and then to award a super soft penalty, with a probable handball leading up to it? That's pretty ridiculous. They wanted England thru though, and found a way to do it.
Yes. Kane getting the shot off combined with the fact that the foul is quite light as is, with Kane following through into Dumfries (who shouldn't have his studs quite there, but didn't Nigel de Jong them into Kane like some seem to think), means that a corrective VAR is far from the norm.
And one would expect the two Saka handballs to remove all doubt when VAR does check, but I'll admit that I cannot keep up with that rule with regards to attackers (directing the ball into your teammate who benefits should be more than enough without intent, imo, but I've seen someone mention that it only matters for the ~goalscorer).
after every weak referee decision i hear a lot of talk "oh yeah team A must go through from the uefa (or fifa in WC's) or team B clearly bribed the ref"
but surely its just because of the fact that most refs (and basically all VAR's) aren't any good
i dont think its a corruption thing (like giving the WC to qatar) but just a lack of quality referees/VARs. And all the abstract rules and rule-changes, mainly with handballs, must not make it any easier for them as well.
