NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
pretty obvious touchback
given how bad the refs have been fully expected the refs to not call it a touchback tho.
We were talking in here a while ago about how what happens if a "peanut" punch misses, is there a penalty? May have been an NFL thread. Well a Duke player got jacked right in the head by an attempted punch out by a Canes player, and there was an unnecessary roughness. Doesn't seem like enough of a penalty.
hahahahaha Franklin what are you doing?

In the Ole Miss/Arky game a few minutes ago an Ole Miss DB was punching at the ball after a receiver caught it and was being ridden down the field by another DB. The first punch hit the ball, the second hit the upper arm, and the third landed on a shoulder. No flag. Two punches hit the player but no flag. Go figure.
omg that's an INT... wow
This game delivers
This game has more twists and turns then a soap opera.
Hell of a play by the osu db
qb keeper to get your team within 26 and posing for the fans. Well done!
Big man TD practically untouched.
Nobody wants any part of that in a hopeless game.
5 receiving TDs in three quarters. Seems pretty good.

It is literally impossible to hurt somebody by punching them in the helmet, but it's a great way to break your hand
they weren't even guarding 71 lol
coulda just thrown it to him underhand
Nice goal line play calling lol.
I don't know about that. Go read into why the 'head slap' became outlawed in the NFL by defensive linemen, particularly Deacon Jones.
Helmets have progressed a lot in 44 years (or, 24 years, which was the last time I put one one)
But I am willing to conceded that NFL defensive linemen may be able to hit harder than I am capable of comprehending
Penn St should tackle that Judkins guy.
Cam Ward just did the ol' Favre sling to the middle of the field. Bright decision chap.
I’m a big fan of Kiffin thinking he has to absolutely butt**** every team he can to get back into the top 12
If any team is gonna score 100 it’ll be ole miss
Love Kiffin. Sark and him have been going back and forth on twitter over recruiting of Kiffin's kid because he keeps wearing Texas shirts.
Replaced Mike Leach as my favorite non-Texas coach.
checking in to see ILP's reaction to that missed call
UM player spears the Oregon punt returner in the side of his face w the crown of his helmet
Oregon punter turns the ball over
no flag
these refs in the Big House are something
