NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
dear god, if Pitt somehow blows this cover
funny play in the pitt game
Kent State completes a 50 yard pass, and the guy is running and stiff arms the pitt defender and grabs the pitt defender's facemask
then the pitt defender horse collars him
penalties offset, replay the down
so, if pitt commits no penalty, it's a 50 yard gain minus 15 yards for a net of +35. but as soon as they grabs the facemask, pitt is now incentivized to commit a penalty and replay the play instead of giving up the 35 yard gain
So tied Vandy getting the ball back with 1:30. VT's QB seems to be cramping.
It's annoying bc I have Pitt -24, but I totally respect what they are doing here, and I always thought that if I were a college coach I would do the same thing
They're up 28 with 4 minutes left. Instead of just running out the clock, they put in their whole second string and continue to run normal offense and give them reps which might pay off in the future. Think they've thrown like six consecutive passes. If the other team gets their feelings hurt, so be it.
Settling for a 45+ yard FG in college seems less than ideal.
Lol vandy
(sigh)...kickah...
I know he's a kicker, but Vandy's kicker might be the skinnier football player ever
It’s like coaches have never watched a game before. Go score a TD or at least get inside the 15.
And the PAVIA anytime touchdown comes through!
I assume Tuten's nickname is "rootin'"?
The playoff auto bids are the top 5 ranked conference champions right? What are the odds that the ACC champ is not among them?
Akron looks like the tougher team. Ohio State is ****ed!
Akron 2024-08-31 15:30:00 50.5
Ohio State 2024-08-31 15:30:00 -50.5
Will Akron score? I don't think so.
well then
Florida getting effed by the refs. gg i guess
Can the headline please be
Zips Blow It @Ohio State
lol clempson
is Deebo going to stick w the no portal shtick?
Ewers is good. Get in on the heisman odds. Unless another dirtbag SEC team gets dirty like they did in 2009 NC.
Billy Napier might get fired at halftime
Florida can fire Napier now. Why wait
