NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
I’m thinking about firing this movie up:
Excellent choice
Clearly OPI there. Garbage no call.
throw the fkg flag ffs
if ever there was a game NOT to do Kotelnicki FPS, this is probably it, but he is who he is
Franklin should stop fpsing when Boise hasn't shown they can stop Pedo State's normal offense
I'm not even rooting for Penn State and I'm filled with rage at the offensive FPS nerfing what should be a 28-7 game.
I know he's coming back for another year first, but I'm going to go ahead and say that Allar is going to be a complete bust as a pro.
Let’s ****ing gooooo potatoes
If Franklin somehow chokes this away, he's cooked for good. If you can't even win THIS big game, you won't ever win any.
This Tyler warren guy seems good. Penn State should throw the ball to him more
God what a bullshit call
If you can eat the flag on the obvious OPI against PSU then you can eat the flag on that hands to the face
This Boise State coach is like totes gay for Jesus.
FPS AGAIN
you ****ing idiot
gosh, so fun to watch the lovable underdog get absolutely butt****ed by the refs
To be fair, the 2nd miss from this BSU kicker looked waaaaay better.
Jeanty should have taken that 3rd and 21 draw to the house.
Man, the favorites in these 3 playoff games are clearly playing better and deserve to win / be winning, but all 3 are just running hotter than the sun too
recovering every fumble, tipped passes for INTs, FG variance, everything just hotter than the sun
5/5
Boise 2 missed FGs, TD called back, Jeanty fumble an inch from being out of bounds
in an even game, PSU is probably up 3 or something, and if Boise ran a little hot they could've won given how much equity PSU's bizarre playcalling seemed to leave on the table
GJGE Boise. You deserved to be here

Penn State losing the best defensive player halfway through the first quarter probably cancels some of this out.

A team whos name sounds like boys(e) was always going to be taken advantage of in a game against penn state with the authorities looking the other way.
Franklin covering in a big game despite his best efforts to throw, you hate to see it.
If I told you at the beginning of the season that all it would take to get into the final four would be a home win vs SMU followed by a neutral field victory over Boise State, would you have even believed it?
so ashton jeanty was supposed to be good? seemed like he was the 3rd best running back in the game today.
No doubt. Would've sold my soul for that outcome. I was hoping we get Pavia this cycle. That was the dream in my head. Zero evidence it's happening in reality. We'll probably have to roll with the $12 million dollar true freshman. No bridge QB for us.
Congrats. Hope you didn't lose as much as me.
I stayed away. The smartest thing I did tho was not check the 2H line. Betting Bama 2H would've been hard to resist given all the non-repeatable chaos that led to Michigan's 16-10 lead plus the weather was better.
If it wasn't for the scars of my past I definitely lose alot of money today. Nearly 10 years ago to the day I bet $17k on Bama to win $5k to beat Ohio State. Still feel the pain from that one.
Congrats ILP. Glad you didn’t bet Bama.
lol football transitive property, but ND manhandled Georgia Tech (took UGA 8 OTs to beat them) and this objectively bad Bama team also beat UGA. I actually feel pretty decent about ND’s chances tomorrow.
Sun Bowl is a solid game right now and packed with fans. Loved to go every year when we lived in El Paso. Refreshing compared to other totally empty Bowl games.
I picked Georgia ml in my parlay so ND is a superlock now. I'm 0-5 in my playoff picks so far. Hope ND wins. Georgia has had enough success lately.
