NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
The announcers came pretty hard there
Good for them I guess
Well at least we got a good game. After ASU's miserable defensive performance on those last two OT plays, I'm not going to cry for them too much.
great game, ewers killed them in the end. they had um, 4th and forever. the blitz... did not work
Quack quack I guess
Wait, tOSU is ahead?
**** college
Here, I've highlighted the relevant part of the picture that shows the crown of the helmet hitting the ASU receiver's helmet.
Here's a split second before. Notice the defender's helmet is pointing much more towards the sky.
Do you need me to make an animated gif of the defender lowering his helmet just before contact?
go ahead
it wasn't the crown of the helmet
they reviewed and had all the angles and it wasn't the crown of the helmet
sry bro
Let's go Ducks!
just looked at defenseless rulebook definitions
he was defenseless
offender didn't lead w the crown of the helmet (i think that was the deciding factor during the replay review)
Just in terms of that helmet map, it makes it look like you'd have to commit absolute spearing to draw the penalty, which is even a difficult position to get into if you were *trying* to concuss someone on most plays not involving another guy holding someone still.
Like you can always talk yourself out of calling it, if you wanted to. Garbage rule change imo.
What can you say? I made peace with losing about two hours ago. Somehow it doesn’t hurt as much as I thought. We had them at 4th and 13 for the win. I guess we did belong.
I’ll be rooting as hard for Oregon.
Left over pac8/10/12 feelings and I hate OSU.
OOF
I would be less pissed if the announcers weren't openly rooting hard for Texas. I understand the refs, but come on announcers.
What a game.
OSU punting from the 36 lol. you love to see it
wow.
boooooooooooom
This looks like a rerun of the last game.
Egbuka loves this place
nevermind
that was JSN
