**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****
Hello again, football fans!
It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!
But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.
I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?
PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.
If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.
If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.
Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.
Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.
Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!
How do I enter?
Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Good luck and let us football!!!
Our most popular incorrect, though not the SHEEP, was played by 4 players. The San Francisco 49ers just had too many injuries to overcome this season. How much will Brock Purdy get? Will Kyle Shanahan get got? Stay tuned this offseason to find out.

Our next most popular incorrect was played by 3 contestants. The Cincinnati Bengals still have some faint playoff hopes, but the defense didn't show up, and they lost too many dumb games early to squander a fantastic season from Burrow, Chase, and Higgins.

Also played by 3 entrants, our next incorrect is the Dallas Cowboys. Their defense looks much better when Micah Parsons is in there, but it's hard for any team to overcome losing the starting QB for the season.

Our next incorrects are a pair of would-be 2-pointers. My terrible Atlanta Falcons stuck with Kirk too long, and despite some late game heroics, couldn't go into Washington and get the win with the season on the line. In the unlikely event that Tampa chokes against the Saints, we could still get in, but as 13 point favorites, I expect them to take care of business. Maybe Penix is the answer long-term, but I still had no delusions of playoff grandeur with this defense, as currently constructed. I hope they draft some impact defenders next April, then we'll see.

Also played by 2 players, our next incorrect is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Seems unlikely Pederson will survive this abortion of a season. Could this be a possible Vrabel destination? I guess we'll find out soon.

Here are the FOUR correct answers that weren't played by the field!
Buffalo Bills
Pittsburgh Steelers
Washington Commanders

We have two 7-point correct SHEEP answers. The Kansas City Chiefs just keep on winning, as they've locked up the #1 seed in the AFC.

Also played by 7 contestants, our next correct is the Detroit Lions. The Fightin' Kneecap Biters were a preseason darling heading into this year, and the offense has certainly delivered. The defense, however, has suffered some staggering injuries, so we'll see how far that can take them. Kerby Joseph leads the NFL in interceptions, though, so there's that. Can't wait to see Sunday Night Football this week!

Our next most popular correct answer was played by 5 entrants. The Baltimore Ravens have had a standout season from Lamar Jackson... perhaps MVP caliber. Derrick Henry keeps doing his thing, and the Ravens are back in the playoffs.

Our next most popular correct was played by 4 players. The Philadelphia Eagles fans were talking about running Sirianni out of town, even though he's got one of the highest NFL head coach winning percentages in the history of the game. Then they rattled off 10 straight wins, and that crazy talk subsided. They're back in the playoffs, but the health of Jalen Hurts remains to be seen.

It's a good one!
Our next correct was played by 2 entrants. The Houston Texans have been up and down this year, but mostly up, when everyone's been in there. CJ Stroud hasn't exactly built upon his fantastic rookie year, but growth in the NFL is not necessarily linear. I maintain that the defense, particularly the pass rush, is much improved, and not talked about often.

Also played by 2 players, our next correct is the Los Angeles Rams. The offense is much more effective when Puka and Kupp are in their, but they and Matt Stafford took a flaming dump on my fantasy team in the playoffs. They do have an intriguing young defense, led by a great rookie, Jared Verse, who would have looked nice in a Falcons uniform, but so it goes.

either that or the chargers but harbs scared me away
Question 17 closes with 2 aces.
It's been a great first year for head coach Jim Harbaugh of the Los Angeles Chargers. They still can't slay the Kansas City dragon (yet), but they're back in the playoffs... thanks to the outstanding UGA rookie Ladd McConkey.
lukethefluke
The final ace for this question is the Green Bay Packers. It's astonishing that a 13 win team could be the 6 seed, but that's how good the NFC North has been. The Pack only has losses to the Lions, Vikings, and Eagles... so we'll see if they can get revenge in the post season.

With a SHEEP score of 7, plus 8 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 15 for this question.
Here are the scores after 17 questions!
We remain deadlocked up top, as royalblue and Booker both SHEEP'ed that one.
That's all for this week!
Enjoy the regular season finale, headlined by the best Game #272 in recent memory, on Sunday night!
I'll try to do two reveals a day (on days I can reveal) to knock out the end-of-season questions.
Likely 2 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, and we'll figure the rest out later.
It’s all downhill from here for me .
