**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

With a SHEEP score of 12, and 6 different correct answers submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 18 for this question.

Here are the scores after 15 questions!

Our top two were correct, and Booker Wolfbox slides onto that third podium spot!

That's all for this week!

Enjoy the games this weekend, then we'll have the next reveal probably Tuesday,

where we'll see if your guy is in the top 20 of total tackles!

Who's here? It's time for the Question 16 Reveal!

Name a defensive player in the Top 20 for Total Tackles by the end of Week 16.

The Top 20 cutoff for this question is 117 tackles.

For this question, we had 12 correct answers, and 36 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

The SHEEP answer for this question was played by 7 contestants. The current Jaguars' LB (and former Falcon) Foyesade Oluokon has been a mainstay near the top of the tackles leaderboard every year, dating back to his Falcons days. This year, sadly, he had a stint on IR with a broken foot, so he's only got 54 tackles. He is back and healthy, now, though.

The next most popular incorrect answer was played by 5 players. The Jets' linebacker CJ Mosley was a tackling machine when he played for the Ravens. Then he signed a big free agent deal with the Jets, and has been largely hurt or ineffective ever since getting the bag. For 2024, he's got 13 tackles, and is currently on IR.

Our next most popular incorrect was played by 4 entrants. The Bills LB Terrel Bernard is one of the best defenders on a good defense. For 2024, he has 55 tackles.

It makes me sad when a good defensive player, that ISN'T well known, becomes well known for a mistake, or something notorious. That's exactly what happened to the Texans' fine LB Azeez Al-Shaair. A very sound tackler, he announced his presence to the football-watching public by bouncing the back of Trevor Lawrence's head off the turf, and his subsequent 3 game suspension. For 2024, he has 45 tackles.

Our next incorrect is another injury bust. The Broncos' LB Alex Singleton had 17 tackles before going on IR.

Injuries suck, and our next incorrect is also on IR. The Giants' LB Bobby Okereke has 47 tackles in 2024.

Our next would-be 3 pointer is the Jets' LB Quincy Williams. He has 62 tackles so far this season.

On to the correct answers!

Here are the 16 correct answers that weren't played by the participants.

...I'd like to note that at age 34, Bobby Wagner led the league in tackles last season, and was correct for this question once again this year, too.

Budda Baker, ARI S, 148 tackles
Zack Baun, PHI LB, 145
Daiyan Henley, LAC LB, 142
Jamien Sherwood, NYJ LB, 142
Kaden Elliss, ATL LB, 131
Nick Cross, IND S, 131
Germaine Pratt, CIN LB, 130
EJ Speed, IND LB, 129
Christian Rozeboom, LAR LB, 128
Jordyn Brooks, MIA LB, 128
Nakobe Dean, PHI LB, 128
Eric Kendricks, DAL LB, 127
Ernest Jones, SEA/TEN LB, 123
Kyzir White, ARI LB, 119
Bobby Wagner, WAS LB, 118
Fred Warner, SF LB, 117

This question's most popular correct answer, though not the SHEEP, was played by 6 contestants. Former UGA standout Roquan Smith now plays linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, where he's 6th in the league in tackles, with 136.

Our next corrects are a pair of 2-point answers. There are lots of good defensive players toiling away on bad teams, like the Raiders' LB Robert Spillane. He's 7th in the NFL in tackles, with 134.

Also played by 2 players, our next correct is the Bears' LB TJ Edwards. He's tied for 17th in the league in tackles, with 119.

Question 16 closes with a pair of aces. When Roquan Smith came over to the Ravens from the Bears, he made LB Patrick Queen expendable. The LSU product stayed in the AFC North, and signed with the Steelers, and became correct for this question. He just barely made it, tied for 20th in the league in tackles with 117.

To conclude this question, I give you the current NFL leader in total tackles, the Colts LB Zaire Franklin. The homer pick comes in for the ACE, as Franklin has 151 tackles.

With a SHEEP score of 7, plus 5 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 12 for this question.

Booker Wolfbox slides into a TIE for the top spot with royalblue, after getting a tough question correct!

That's all for this week!

I think I'm up to 4 questions being missed because of guys going on IR.

Fun times.

I'm sure I effed up the remaining questions, but ... wheeee
