**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons

Chiefs

Saints

Nick Chubb…

THERE's the comedy we were promised!

You absolutely need to keep it at 300yds for next year as well. 250 is a joke.

I don't love it, but I'd accept 290.

Split the difference at 275 maybe?

by REDeYeS00 k

if it added up to 900 i'd advocate you be an exception to a rule,
but you missed by one yard so i won't even mention it

I know red was halfway joking, but I kind of liked this idea. Take the top 3 passing yard games from the QB you choose and if the average is 300 or higher, then you're correct.

Or just 2 games. Or move the question back a couple weeks

I'm down, but it's gotta be higher than 300 if we're using an average. Maybe 350?

Otherwise "everyone" will be right, and you get Cousins as a right answer because of his outlier 509 yard game, despite not hitting 250 in any other games.

I think 300 is probably still fair with the way the league is currently playing. I'd meet the in middle at 325. Cousins would have only had 329 for his top 3 average. The next highest game was Geno at 395.

Seattle is averaging the most passing yards per game at 271. There are only 5 teams at 250 or higher. Atlanta is at 249. 13 teams are below 200, with the Jags, Bills and Colts just a shade over.

Moving it back a few weeks might be the best solution.

I think it is a major overreaction to change it based on one year. If it happens again next year, then maybe we think about it.

Last year, there were 5 QBs that qualified but 16 correct answers and 30 incorrect: Mahomes (9), Cousins (4), Tua (1), Stafford (1), and Carr (1).

If you have to do something, I'm with those guys, just move it back.

This. What did previous years look like?

I agree that if anything, just move it back a couple of weeks or something.

Who's here? It's time for the Question 8 Reveal!

8. Name a team that held another team to single digit points (or shut them out) in a win by the end of Week 8.

For this question, we split this right down the middle.

Interestingly, there have been ZERO complete shutouts in the NFL thus far!

For this question, there were 24 correct answers, and 24 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

The most popular incorrect answer (though NOT the SHEEP) was played by myself (AGAIN, sigh), and 4 others.

The San Francisco 49ers haven't held anybody to single digits.

Jeremy517's perfect game is the last to fall! Congrats on a great run.

Also played by two players, our next incorrect is the New Orleans Saints. They came close in week 1, when they blew out the Panthers, but the Panthers got to 10 in that game.

Our final would-be 2-point incorrect is the Houston Texans, who haven't held anybody to single digits.

There are two unplayed correct answers, BOTH of whom qualified twice.

Minnesota Vikings, W1 @ NYG 28-6, & W3 vs HOU 34-7
Denver Broncos, W3 @ TB, 26-7, & W4 @ NYJ, 10-9

This question's SHEEP answer was played by a massive TWELVE contestants! The New York Jets only have 2 wins on the season so far, but one of them was at home against the Patriots in Week 3, 24 - 3.
