**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons

Chiefs

Saints

Nick Chubb…

Notice the key word there, "winning". Some of you failed to complete that part and unfortunately there is no half credit in PEEHS.

Don’t make me tap the sign.

Touche! Curse you cold weather Dolphins

Been a busy week... hadn't had a chance to update the scores until now.

Cherokee was great, I came home with more money than I brought!

...Then I'm turning 40, tomorrow 😮

Anyway, MrWookie pads a modest lead for the top spot, on the back of that ace, where most of the field got 18 or 24 points!

Who's here? It's time for the Question 14 Reveal!

14. Name a defensive player with 2+ interceptions by the end of Week 14.

There are currently 65 players in the NFL with 2 or more interceptions.

Did you pick one of them?

For this question, we had 27 correct answers, and 21 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

Our most popular incorrect answer (though not the SHEEP) was played by 4 players.

The 49ers CB Charvarius Ward has 32 tackles, but no interceptions.

Our next most popular incorrect, played by 3 people, is the Ravens' Safety Kyle Hamilton. He already has 1 interception, but really he has at least 1.9 Sklansky interceptions, as he dropped a gimme a few weeks that cost Baltimore the game! What can be said, PEEHS is a game of inches.

Also played by 3 contestants, our next incorrect is the Seahawks' second year corner Devon Witherspoon. He has 6 passes defensed, but no picks.

Our leader MrWookie drops a question! How far will he fall?

Our next incorrect, played by 2 entrants, is the Jets' CB Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner. I love that his officially listed first name on ESPN is "Sauce." Anyway, he's been more sizzle than substance for the Jets this season, as he has no picks this year.

Also played by 2 players, our next incorrect is the Bills' CB Rasul Douglas. He does have a forced fumble this year, but no picks.

On to the correct answers!

This question's SHEEP answer was played by yours truly, (sigh), and 4 others, for a total of 5. The best free agent signing the Atlanta Falcons have made in quite some time is the fine all pro safety Jessie Bates. He's responded with 6 picks last year, and 2 so far this year.

Our next most popular correct answers are a pair of 4-pointers. The Texans' CB Derek Stingley Jr will always be inextricably linked, and compared to Sauce Gardner, as they were the 2 elite corners that went in the top of the draft 3 years ago. He has 3 interceptions so far this season.

Also played by 4 contestants, our next correct answer is the Cowboys' corner Trevon Diggs. Stefon's brother made the all pro team two years ago with a billion pick-6's, and this season he has 2 INT's.

Question 14 closes with a whopping 7 aces.

The Eagles' safety CJ Gardner-Johnson has three picks this year.

Our next ace is the Raiders' CB Jack Jones, who has 2 interceptions this year.

Our next ace is the Saints' corner Paulson Adebo, who has 3 picks.

Our next ace is the Honey Badger, the Saints' safety Tyrann Mathieu. He's had quite the football life, as a college standout, to trouble off the field, to injury, to a triumphant return playing at an all pro level. Throughout his career, at every stop (and there have been many), his career has been defined by excellence. He also has 3 interceptions in 2024.
