**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****
Hello again, football fans!
It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!
But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.
I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?
PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.
If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.
If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.
Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.
Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.
Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!
How do I enter?
Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.
Since we get questions on this every year...

Good luck and let us football!!!
The most popular incorrect answer (though NOT the SHEEP) is the Detroit Lions, played by 5 players. They won in overtime against the Rams, but lost the playoff rematch to the Buccs this past weekend.

Our next most popular incorrect was played by 4 contestants. The Dallas Cowboys won convincingly in Cleveland, but got their doors blown off by the Saints at home.

Think there is an issue with the site duplicating posts at the moment
Well, this week is a spectacular fail.
Thanks, FAT MIKE!!!!
Our next incorrects are a trio of would-be 3-pointers. The San Francisco 49ers have been bit by the injury bug, and I heard on some crazy stat on a podcast that they haven't won IN Minnesota since 1992 😮

Also played by 3 entrants, our next incorrect is the Philadelphia Eagles. They won a close one in Brazil, and we all saw what happened last night. Did the Eagles (specifically Saquon, or Darius Slay) blow that game, or did they GET BEAT by prime time Kirk? ...I LIKE that.

Somehow, three of our contestants selected the New York Giants to be undefeated by the end of Week 2. They... came up a little short.

Played by 2 players, our next incorrect is the Miami Dolphins. They hung tough for a close one over the Jags, but their viability going forward is very much in doubt, with Tua's concussion issues.

lol ace hunting failed spectacularly there wouldn't even have been an ace
Next, we're down to the ace hunters. The Cincinnati Bengals in the Joe Burrow Era have started seasons inexplicably slow. They sit at 0-2 after two games this year, just like last year, AND the year before. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Our next incorrect is the New York Jets. It was pretty bold to pick them to beat the 49ers, AND they maybe had more trouble than they should have against the Titans. Recency bias, but they look like they're playing better now.

Next up, our next incorrect would-be ace is the Green Bay Packers. Hopefully Jordan Love won't miss too much time. However, Malik Willis played within his capabilities, executed the game plan, and beat the Colts this weekend, so maybe they'll be okay.

Next up, we have the Denver Broncos. Man, Bo Nix sure was getting the vapors this preseason! ...Then the games started. Maybe he'll eventually be okay, but I've already rage-dropped Courtland Sutton in fantasy.

Closing us out for the incorrects on question 2, we have a couple homer picks that went awry. The Jacksonville Jaguars were in both the games that they lost, but lose they did. I remain more optimistic on Trevor Lawrence's future than the general football-watching public, but I concede he's had some bad results lately.

Our final incorrect is the Carolina Panthers. Authors of the worst point differential in the NFL (by a LOT), the Panthers have already benched the prize of maybe the most lopsided trade in NFL history.
Also, a PSA for football fans: Andy Dalton, the newly named starting quarterback for the Panthers, has been known by the nickname "Red RIFLE." This has been incorrectly attributed to be the "Red Rocket," which, according to urban dictionary, is when a dog has an erection.
So yeah, things are going just great in Carolina!

There are currently 9 teams in the NFL that are 2-0.
Here are the FOUR correct answers that weren't guessed by the participants!
Pittsburgh Steelers
Minnesota Vikings
Tampa Bay Saints
New Orleans Saints

On to the correct answers!
This question's massive SHEEP was played by yours truly, and some other fishes, for a total of 14 entrants. The Seattle Seahawks had some buzz heading into this season, and an easier slate of the first two games than most. They beat the Broncos and Patriots, and it sure looks like EVERYBODY was on them for PEEHS.

Oh, I didn't know this actually happened on a broadcast!
I thought it was just something I observed, and nobody else was aware of.
Our next most popular correct answer was played by 5 contestants. The 1. Los Angeles Chargers are playing inspired football under the younger Harbaugh. They've defeated the Raiders and the Patriots, but face a stiffer test this week when they head to Pittsburgh.

Question 2 closes with THREE aces.
The Buffalo Bills lost a lot of their receiving corps and their defense, but apparently having Josh Allen is enough to win games. The defeated the Cardinals and the Dolphins to sit at 2-0.
mattew88
Our next ace is the Houston Texans. They're 2-0, with wins over the Colts and Bears, while the rest of the division is 0-2. The offense hasn't yet looked as great as it did at times last season, but the arrow is clearly pointing up for this young team and their second year head coach.

Our final ace for question 2 is the surprising, upstart team nobody (except nyc999!) saw coming: the Kansas City Chiefs. Apparently, the back to back Super Bowl Champions know how to win football games. They had a tough slate, opening with the Ravens and the Bengals, but emerged victorious.
