EV question. MIA QB throws the ball away in the endzone and gets called for IG. TEN CB almost came up with the INT at around the OPP 35.

If he makes that catch, do you take POINTS OFF THE BOARD and take the field position (assume it's the middle of the game and time doesn't matter)? If not, how close to you have to be to do that?

It's a case of a coach understanding the simplest and most frequent application of the principle, but not the concept itself. Or else being so uncommitted to the principle that one failure makes him absolutely gun shy.

That's interesting. He mentions it's counterintuitive, so I guess he's already addressed this, but yeah, you'd assume the rule is "it's better to know if your 2pt will miss sooner rather than later" but maybe not.
