The NHL Thread
For the 5 of us who post NHL stuff, here you go. Officially the season starts Tuesday October 11, although there were tw
Ya rumblings of something big, but definition of big up for debate, haha
lol oilers
8 years 12 million per for Marner to Vegas being reported.
Also, the Maple Leafs have re-signed Steven Lorentz to a 3 year deal, 1.35 million AAV
Coming in fast and furious, boys!
Brad Marchand is staying with the Panthers on a 6 year deal.
Mariner is a Knightin a sign and trade 8 years 12 mill a year
any time you can sign a 37 year old to a 6-year contract, you gotta do it
in other news canucks apparently re-signing gimp ass demko for some reason
and they just gave lankinen $23m
and silovs just won the calder cup
so no idea what the plan is there or who's the odd man out
can't imagine silovs wants to be in the ahl again next season
Who do we have as top three cup Favourites
I hope Marner has success in Vegas
Gotta love that Florida doesn't even feel the need for plausible deniability on that Marchand LTIRetirement deal. I think he's a favourite to spend more time on LTIR than playing

yeah well i mean other than the devils who kept spamming cheat contracts for kovalchuk after they were told to stop, the canucks are the only team who's ever been punished for that, so i'm not surprised they aren't at all worried about it
i don't really care enough anymore to be mad about it, more confused really. would guess that they're planning on trading demko still, or he's still injured or something, idk. haven't heard what their thinking is there
Well, that was today. We still have tomorrow, and see who picks up who in free agency.
So odds that Pieternagelo magically heals by game 1 of the playoffs?
1 more interesting tidbit,
Patrick Kane stays in Detroit on a 1 year contract extension worth $3M in base salary and up to $4M in potential bonus payments.
Bonus breakdown:
$2.5M for 10 games played
$250,000 each for 30 and 50 games played
$500,000 for reaching playoffs
$250,000 for Round 1 win
$250,000 for Round 2 win
i thought they closed the ltir loophole?
New CBA does not take effect until 2026=27 season where there will be a salary cap in the playoffs.
