Clemson v Miami on ESPN
Clemson's PJ Hall currently third in kenpom POY (obv crazy elite #s across the board)
Joe Girard, after 4 yrs at 'Cuse, now at Clemson shooting 45.6 3P% (a career 37.2% shooter)
Clemson can shoot (12th in the nation in eFG% at 57.5%) but don't turnover opponents (348th in the nation in defensive TO%)
crazy that this is Brownell's 14th season
Going to be a tough one at Littlejohn on Saturday.
the BUFFS get s**tcanned on the road to start 2024. This comes after they squeaked by in a couple of conference home games to end 2023.
In other words, they are already in mid-season form.
Time to move on from CFB and let's fire up this thread guys.
solid offensive 1st half by Butler (1.209 ppp)
Purdue records it's fourth KenPom top 10 win against Illinois.
PJ Hall was no match vs Bacot today. Solid UNC win at Clemson.
Hubert took a lot of crap from me, all the UNC fans, and the rest of college bball last year (and a lot of it was deserved) but he actually looks like he can coach with his own players filling out the majority of the roster. Ingram has been the sort of leader and do it all type of player vs what the defense gives, and if he doesn't score d's up and rebounds like a beast. Trimble by far has been the biggest surprise.
Cadeau just doesn't seem like a one and done. Jumping to next year I don't see how you keep Trimble off the court, or if he transfers if Ian Jackson still comes.
Massive home cooking for Kansas
Joining thread in preparation for madness.
Juwan needs to go. You can do all the extracurricular bullshit if the team is winning, but this team stinks and you keep getting into random fights and stuff, we need to go in a different direction.
AdjD rank only
Houston's (#1 AdjD 84.9) gap between #2 Tenn (89.7) is the same between #2 Tenn and #18 St. Mary's (94.5)
Nebraska upsets Purdue
This is for sure the highest profile CBB game featuring two teams where both of their best players are Asian, right?
I did some poking around
Rui and Yuta Watanabe were in college at the same time, but they never played each other
Edey isn't Asian, he's Canadian
To be fair to Golden it's easy to confuse the two
His maternal grandparents were Chinese immigrants.
#1 #2 #3 #5 all go down as road favorites against unranked teams. I guess UConn is about to jump to #1
**** state.
Thought our contingent of UNC Slapjacks might enjoy this
Kansas is 19th in KenPom, 22nd in Torvik, 3rd in the AP Poll because of course.
lol. indeed
😃

UNC's team identity is melding into gritty D (and i love it)
the Heels have posted the best defensive performance vs their opponent in four of their past five games (and third best in the other game)

and a tip of the cap to Harrision Ingram for grabbing 19 rebounds from his forward spot last night

This team is playing like a more athletic and way more up and down better scoring version of Virginia. When their shots aren't falling, everybody out there seems to take total pride in defense. Ingram and Trimble especially. This is probably the best UNC defensive team I've seen since Dean in the 90s. They kind of remind me of the 1993 team. Not the most athletic or talented UNC team ever, but a great team that played hard and together and great defense. Ingram reminds me a lot of George Lynch with his defense, rebounding and leadership.
