Maybe illegal defense should go away.

The name sucks too. It's not like these nba players are stealing cars mid game.

What's the point of the rule again? To make the more exciting?

Flirt with a year of free for all defense and how it goes.

Compared to the 1990s, illegal defense did go away.

Every possession from modern basketball would have been illegal

Warriors score 130 and Draymond is their leading scorer with 23.

What in the Twilight Zone version of the NBA is this??

SGA's numbers not near Jordan based on all the advanced stats, but clearly better than Kobe's.

Which advanced stats show SGA to be not near MJ?

I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but Jordan had 9 seasons with a higher VORP than SGA has ever had, and 10 seasons with more win shares than SGA has ever had.

So we can start there.

Fortunately for you, it is never called.

Curry and Butler combined for 17.

It's so weird what momentum does to role players.

Also last time Green led the team in scoring was Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

One of the great big game performances fwiw that was overshadowed by... you know... 3-1 :(

I'm not looking for anything.

Kobe also had two seasons with a higher VORP than SGA ever had and two seasons with more WS than SGA ever had. So it can't be that SGA is clearly better than Kobe if those are the metrics being used.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m sure that at the time LeBron was impressed and still remembers Draymond’s performance (and exact stat line) to this day.

I'm pretty confident that with 20 games to go SGA is going to get Kobe on those win shares this season.

And any other advanced stat SGA has him covered. So, if you want to hang your hat on one stat (VORP) for 1 season, I guess that's okay.

32/15/9 in 15 shots. Game score of 35.9.

LeBron had 23.1 for comparison and it's a game (or 3 games) that is a fair chunk of his legacy.

I didn't bring up win shares or VORP - Rococo brought those up on your behalf.

So if you're talking about this season, as I suspected, what do you mean by SGA not being near MJ based on all the advanced stats?

MJ has got him covered for a handful season or so on...

VORP, PER & WS (projected).

I've only looked at bball ref.

SGA has been awesome by the way. I mean he might win the MVP when Joker is putting up numbers that are flat out insane.

Never seen a team turnover the inbound pass late in a game the way the Lakers do the last 2 years. It's just unreal how often they don't even get the last shot.

Reaves is the best 3rd banana ITL

I'd definitely rather have whomever of White/Holiday/KP is considered Boston's third option. They're all far less creative than Reaves, but they turn the ball over way less often, and they're more suited to play off the ball... and I get you may just be talking about offense, but I gotta note those guys actually play on the other end too.

He's a hell of a fun player, though! It's cool watching him go Hillbilly Luka on them.

I don't think people understand how historically awesome SGA is. Let's do an eye test from that video.

****ing look at the separation he gets when he goes for a shot. 0 threat of any of those shots being blocked. That's kind of how I remember MJ doing it. No one could contend Jordan's first step and his fade away so he got clean looks all the time. Shai reminds me somewhat of that. People can't stay in front of him so when he shoots they are open shots which are the best shots.

Replace Jordan with current SGA starting in the 90-91 season and he doesn't retire and wins 9 straight titles.

Let's maybe wait till dude wins a meaningful playoff series before appointing him the goat

wat?

The dude is likely to stop Joker winning the MVP when he's averaging a 30 point triple double on ridiculous efficiency.

People understand.

I wondered all year what makes Cleveland so great. Watch them today for the first time and they blow to Orlando looking like crap. Mitchell after every missed shot or turnover failed to hustle back in D. I guess you chalk it up to March doldrums setting in waiting for the playoffs and all streaks end.

O-Town just sneaky elite.

I want a Dallas player to openly state "yeah the Luka trade was awful so either me or Nick is gone in the offseason".

Imagine.

People see the numbers but without the context behind it. I've never seen a player get that kind of consistent separation without them being a all time great.

Lakers get Jaxson Hayes back. 8-10 fgs. Win game.

He might be the most crucial player for this Lakers team in some ways.
