NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Is Chet +2000 for dpoy basically just wemby 95% chance of playing 4/5 or 5/5 of the remaining games.
Or am I missing something, arbs available on it if you have positions open. basically can cash out no vig.
Great job JJ
Not often you can find a situation where someone wastes Luka worse than Nico did
I don't know wtf JJ Reddick was thinking. Luka was grabbing his hamstring multiple times in the first half. The Lakers were down by 30 at the half. Just shut it down. In fact I don't think Reeves or Lebron should've touched the court after halftime. You lost the game already. Wtf is the point? Playoffs are coming just call it quits and let Kléber and Vanderbilt and Bro
In fairness, Luka is always grabbing at something. I swear, the guy looks like he's constantly hurting every game. What he was doing didn't look like anything different from other times of the season.
Things change fast in sports. My brother asked me if the Lakers have a shot this year before the OKC game, and I said, as long as they stay healthy, yes... OKC will be tough though, but they are finally jelling. Guess I jinxed it. :(

It's worth noting that Marcus Smart might actually be the 2nd most important Lakers this year, and he wasn't in the lineup.

Agreed. He's a connector for sure and their best on-ball defender. He's also come up clutch in big moments this year. There's a reason why he has the best +/- on the team. It's not by accident.
grade 2 sprain for Luka, i guess that is normally a month long injury
Cooper Flagg becomes the first player in NBA history to score 50+ in a game before his 20th birthday. And the Mavs of course still lost.
what would winning have accomplished? TANK FOR DYBANTSA
#RIPReeves
Teams are going to be positioning themselves for the Lakers now.
LeBron's got this!
34/18/7/5 Wemby
40/8/13/3 Joker
1 TO between them.
They better meet in the playoffs!
spurs down to +450 to title on DK and +500 on FD
I mean Durant played all the third quarter against Utah when it was a 30 point game.
Brown/Tatum played to the end of the third when it was 30 half way through the 3rd.
Being a bit results oriented when the players are getting injured half way through the 3rd.
I think it's a different story if it happens in the 4th.
I didn't watch the game, but Luka subbed out at 7:40 left in the third, and Reaves at 4:30. Not many coaches bench their guys before that.

How an NBA team sabotaged their chances in the post season in a game they were already blown out of.
An MLB team takes out all their stars and veterans anytime a game is out of hand. You don't need to leave guys in so they can hit their silly quotas of points and minutes and whatever. This game was over at the half, and the team should've removed these guys (and Lebron and Ayton) and let the scrubs play the second half. Even if this game was closer you should've probably done this but to leave these guys in there to play garbage minutes in a blow out game I cannot agree with.

Those were games they were winning, right? Which is also a different story. In that case you're basically having a victory lap. To have stars playing through a blowout loss with 6 games left in the season? Just illogical.
I think it might be a stat padding issue. Does red hot Luka want to let a game go playing 13 minutes and scoring 7 points? In NBA per game averages are the norm, so players don't want a game to hurt their averages. In baseball we don't average anything by the game, if a team is down 10-0 in the 3rd inning you can bet all their Luka/Reeves/Lebron equivalent players are hitting the showers and not going back on the field again.
I'm not sure winning makes it better.
Anyway I'm not sure of too many (non-Pop) related times teams that don't have starters out there half way through the third even in a blow out.
NBA is a joke.
as of 4am est seems like over half of the guys across games are projected to sit tomorrow, will be interesting to see the impact it’ll have on seeding for playoff teams/lottery
can get lakers to title at 700-1. LeBron will turn back the clock!!!
