NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Barkley is as Barkley does.
if Knicks hold might never forgive myself for offloading Knicks +6000-6500 to title for infinite
sniped it on a peer to peer prediction market mid first round cashed out laying -900 pre conf finals
iirc circa juice free on “Knicks NO” was around -835 pre game 6-7 cavs pistons
tonight’s win was cathartic though
no such thing as holding
games are still needed to be won
just because you're up 2-1, it doesnt mean "hold"
each team has their equity from an EV standpoint
like a sidebar here, people all in AA vs KK and yell "HOLDDDD" is missing the point entirely. Aces arent 100% so there is no such thing as holding, if they win the hand then they ran ABOVE expectation. each hand that isnt drawn dead in poker is entitled to its (long-term) equity.

😃 😃 stfu pal
but I will say I’ve never wanted to give someone $100 so much!♥
using my one time here go spurs go
you've got the refs teaming up with the spurs, so u should feel good
Adam Silver finally returned my calls
the NBA is WWE but with a basketball.
tim donaghy DID NOT ACT ALONE
david stern WAS COMPLICIT IN RIGGING GAMES
Adam Silver is a spineless piece of ****, rigging the NBA FINALS clear as ****ing day.
Drumpf always loved WWF
i'd go to war with this guy.
RIGGED !!!!!
The NBA finals of course aren't rigged, and Mike Brown cataloging the free throw differential is a bog standard effort to work the officials between games, no matter how justified the differential was.
That said, the officiating was awful in game 3 and hugely favored the Spurs, which I'm sure the post mortem will make clear to the officials. That has a psychological impact, no matter how experienced an official you are. For that reason, i would be really surprised if the Spurs got a great whistle in game 4 and not that surprised if the Knicks did. I still like the Knicks quite a bit to win the series.
If I were Mike Brown, I also would tell my guys to sell much harder if they get shoved or hit in the head by Wemby.
Wemby clearly should have gotten a tech or a flagrant for his foul on Brunson. But rather than sell it, Brunson popped up and tried to confront Wemby while play continued. I understand that instinct is part of why Brunson is good, but if he had gone full Neymar, the refs would have blown a late whistle and the call would have been given.
Rumor is Wemby is able to get away with murder because another flagrant would be 4 points and a 1 game suspension. I guess they could the route of a technical instead, but the questionable fouls Wemby are committing are more flagrant than technical. The refs could at least call a common foul.
But yeah, I expect the ref whistle to lean more toward the Knicks in game 4, especially with it being in NY again.

He would need to get another Flagrant 2 or two Flagrant 1s to get a one-game suspension. Another Flagrant 1 would put him on the brink, but not over it. That play on Brunson should have been a Flagrant 1, but not a Flagrant 2.
Yeah, I read some posts saying he had 3 flagrant points and assumed they were correct. I remembered the F2 ejection against Minn and couldn't remember a F1 (I haven't watched all his games) but didn't verify lol.
I doubt the league will retro an F1 for last night, but they really should. It'd make him think twice with the suspension risk. Between the shove on Brunson and the play below, which is very similar (arguably worse) to the F1 called on Brunson last night, he deserves one. Either way, the refs have to absolutely be better at calling him for common fouls at a bare minimum.
There is simply no way to justify this being a flagrant foul on Brunson:
And this being a no call on Wemby.
I understand how the no call happened on Wemby. Sometimes refs simply don't see fouls away from the ball. That's why the first call seemed much more egregious to me. They reviewed that **** and still called a flagrant. Brunson stopped at least 18 inches short of Champaigne's takeoff spot, and Champaigne landed on Brunson's calf only because he extended his leg. I don't think it was an intentional kickout of the leg by Champaigne, but it surely wasn't a flagrant foul by Brunson.
Vic gets hit worse on every rebound.

is this a mistake? how did derrick rose get a 1st place MVP vote in 2021? i assume the voter lost his vote going forward for that joke?
edit: google AI rules us all
Derrick Rose received one surprise first-place MVP vote for the 2020-21 NBA season. This vote was cast by the fans as part of the consensus fan vote, which has represented a 101st ballot in the NBA awards for over a decade. The official voter breakdown confirms that no media members voted for him. Instead, the massive online popularity and support for Rose among fans secured him the single first-place nod.
wow never knew that
anyway this came up because my friend sent me a video of some Spurs fan getting jumped by like 9 Knicks fans after the game. And I said nobody deserves to be assaulted but that is kinda on him, what does he think bunch of rowdy fans who have been getting drunk for 6 hours and then had to watch that Castle dagger are going to do? These people got hyped for a team with Derrick Rose as 2nd leading playoff scorer in 2021 and then I looked that team up on bbref.

How would this even be a rumor? It is either true or it isn't. What am I missing?
plus kat is literally bear-hugging him on every possession. wompy 20-feet from the hoop doing nothing and kat has him wrapped up with both hands, has to shake him off first before he can do anything, must be ****ing exhausting (which is obv the point, if the refs are gonna allow that). it's actually insane they've let it get to this point with so much off-ball garbage
