Not sure about that. Fairly often, the halftime performer is someone who hasn't been musically relevant for a decade.

Those would be mighty thin silver linings, but neither would hurt.

Not my experience over the years. Lamar (i couldn't name a song) doesn't fit the average fan, usually the music is aimed at the late 30s-40s. Go look at the last decade.
