I wonder if the Saudis have taken a leaf out of the Italian club's business model, where you make eyes at whatever player you want but then plead poverty when asked for a fee. It's obv much harder for the Saudi's to do that when they are pumping crude out for ten bucks a barrel.

My scouse supporting buddy told me that he would rather keep Mane than Salah and cash in on him while they can (think they were throwing 100millies left and right). It seemed like a crazy thing to suggest at the time, but I guess time proved him right.

It's definitely not the contract/money with Salah. Remember he turned down a 3 year £500m contract with the Saudis
and instead signed a £40m 2 year deal with Liverpool. That was after basically begging in public for a Liverpool contract extension.
When you've won everything and will go to the World Cup regardless of where you play if your country qualifies then turning down £450m+ is absurd imo and almost none of us would have done that if we are honest.

This is it exactly I think. He gets excited and lively every time someone mentions he passed somebody in a goal scoring record and he knows all the small records hes taken as well. I think he has/had a hope and determination of being the all time Liverpool GOAT in pure goal scoring terms and its come to a point where potential eternal glory is his driving factor over money.
He wants to play every minute of every game and thinks he is entitled to it because of past performance. Nobody is entitled to that imo and as Reynolds pointed out he has previous for falling out with Klopp for subbing/benching him.
He hasn't been great and deserved to be dropped. I don't think he should have gone public but I understand why he did. He should have come off the bench against Leeds. Slot needs to be sacked imo and Salah needs to drop the entitled prima donna behaviour.
